Hello,

I just replace my previous mobile (Nokia N97) to Samsung Galaxy and I have some questions:

1. Is there any PC software to manage my phone? Download apps; upgrade firmware etc. (same as iTunes or Nokia PC suite). I'm running Windows 7 32/64 bit.
2. How to perform firmware upgrade (current version on my phone is 1.5)
3. Any good website with apps reviews? It

Welcome to the club.

I think you should browse through this forum and read topics, because you will find answers to all your questions....

Regarding upgrade, there is unofficial 1.6 upgrade available and it should be official next month or something like that.

Samsung is working on PC management soft improvement, maybe we will see that next month also?

1. If there are applications which you cant find on market then you will have to download them, put them on the sdcard. Download a file explorer, browse to the app. Click it and install. Very simple.

2. This is a link to instructions how to install Galaxo 1.6.1, it's a custom rom based on 1.6 with more homescreens added etc. Flash rom Galaxo 1.6.1 - Installation on Samsung Galaxy

3. I like to look up applications on AndroLib, Find all applications and games available in the Android Market for your Android Phone, HTC Dream, HTC Magic etc..., there you can browse them fast in your browser. Look up comments etc, and if you like it just scan the QRcode with the app "barcode scanner". It will take you directly to the app on the market(if you have the rights to see it).

Basically, 'Windows isn't finding the drivers, it can't connect to the phone at all, when you try to flash the recovery image, it's just sitting there saying <waiting for device>.

and since "fastboot" mode lasts only for 15 secs, it ll continue with the normal reboot procedure after the 15 secs have elapsed.

So to try to resolve your prob, you can follow the first few steps tat have been posted in the following link :http://thehippy.net/nucleus/index.php?itemid=1387

Did you do this bit?

Find the II5 firmware I7500XXII5-PDA-CL64494-REV5(VIA).tar and rename it to II5.tar and copy this to the root of the internal storage (this is how the Google Apps are restored later).

Are you trying to flash your galaxy with Galaxo 1.6.1(Donut) mentioned in the above link ?
If you are, why are you doing this :

Please follow all the instructions in the above link to the letter. You should be able to get the GalaxoRom running on your Galaxy in no time.

If you want to use Cupcake then you have to follow the instructions in the link below : samsung i7500 galaxy - Dan Dascalescu's Wiki

Goto the Section "Flashing the GalaxHero v1.1 ROM" and follow the steps :)

Problems occur when you don't do a factory reset before and after the flashing recovery procedure. So, why don't you do tat first and then flash the recovery.

Here are a few more links tat i referred to when i first flashed my firmware. Hope they maybe of some help to you.

Hey, you can download the JC4 firmware from the following link and odin it to your mobile .
zSHARE - I7500_XEJC4_XEJC4_SERJC4_Russia_SER.7z

You can refer to the following link for additional info.http://androidforums.com/samsung-i7500/53896-i7500-xejc4.html

To keep you informed, there are newer versions of 1.6 firmware like JC5 and JC6 which contain minor bugfixes (mainly language support).

The download link for the JC6 is

I am currently using JC4 and find that the phone on minimal usage will last upto 70+ hrs. On heavy usage it may last for 2 days or so. .

Vent tested the JC6 firmware, but i did read in one of the threads that "a no sleep bug - which causes the battery to drain in abt 12 -24 hrs has been reintroduced" (not there in JC4).

Its better you flash everything except for the .CSC file(contains operator specific settings).

I also agree with him, after flashing JC6 the bug occurs after having some calls. i went back to JC4 again.

hello all. i'm also new at android phones and i of coarse bought samsung galaxy i7500 and till i tryed it i didn't know that it has so many problems. of coarse you all probably know about bluetooth file transfer, quite high battery consuption, not able to update to 2.1 android OS, etc... so, from everything i read here, no one mentioned anything about bluetooth FT, which is a huge issue for me, so i really need to know if just flashing firmware to JC4 fixes bluetooth FT? any help and/or sugestions are more then welcome.. oh, i bought my i7500 in germany and i curently have FW ii5. thank you for your help in advance.
