Can't find ApkInstaller on Market

I'm trying to load the ApkInstaller from Android Market but I can't find it on there? Anyone else had any luck in finding it and installing it?

I'm trying to load it after I read on Electripig that the Google Navigation and Directions app can be hacked and works fine (a free navigation service if it does). On one site it even shows a photo of the ApkInstaller on the Market and someone with a Desire even commented they've followed Electripig instructions for the App and it works perfectly but for the 'ell of me can I find it?

What am I missing (other than a brain)..?????

Loving the Desire but would love to get this App aswell.

any installer will work I installed androzip and it wirks fine
I've insalled Google maps navagation but when I tried it it kept saying no route planned

from my understanding, apkinstaller simply installs .apk files from the SDcard. Well ASTRO file manager (or any file manager) does the same thing by navigating to the .apk file on the SDcard and selecting it.

However you should make sure you can install non-Market applications by going through Menu > Settings > Applications and checking "Unknown Sources".

You need to use Brut maps, it will not work on the standard maps app.

Well I insatlled it and gave it a whirl this works fine though a little laggy. I was on a roundabout when it told me to turn right but hopefully it will catch up.
Looks cool in satalite mode
