Pretty ridiculous, although I guess that VP of products who has been responding to customer concerns lately has been quoted as saying that they were going to reset the deadline and then make sure they stick to that one. And then apparently responded to someone else and said not Q4 as in Dec 31st, much earlier than that.

Still though, I think I've finally had enough. The ICS leaks seem to work perfectly fine, and I'm talking about version 232 which I still use, after which there has been 4 or 5 more updates. The rumor going around is that Flash is still the biggest issue but I'm not sure if that's true or not. Other than that I just can't imagine what the hold up is.

My Bionic with its extended battery has pretty much been relegated to wifi hotspot duty for my Nexus 7 anyway, but now I feel like selling it just out of spite. But that's just creating more work for myself, and I don't think too many newer devices offer the extended battery size that the Bionic got, at least not OEM products. So this disappointing Moto device may live on as a wifi hotspot for a while longer. And maybe now I'll finally update from 232, the last ICS leak that lets you easily flash back to Gingerbread. I kept waiting thinking I wanted to be able to get back to stock and flash the official update with as little hassle as possible, but now that it may take 3 more months, I don't care.

I'm still cautiously optimistic we will see ICS either next week or the week after, but who really knows @ this point

You all forget one very important thing. Actually, two very important things.

1. It's not Motorola making the final decision on whether the update gets released or not. it's VZW.
2. I'd rather have a working ICS upgrade that works seamlessly, than one that causes even more problems like the RAZR ICS update did.

As Dautley points out, Flash only now works as of .246 - which most of y'all are not jumping to b/c it prevents you from going back to .905 (GB)....

I'd rather NOT have to go through what a lot of RAZR users did. Yes, I'm running the leaks, as of right now .246, but I'm limited in that I can only switch between .235+ leaks now. I can deal with it, I know what I am doing, but there are still issues - one of which is that my phone STILL only clocks in at stock 1.0 GHz, not 1.2 like it is supposed to....

If it really is all Verizon's fault, I don't think Moto would take all the heat for it from their customers without mentioning that, at least in a subtle way without stating it so obviously to tick off Verizon. Also, did we ever truly confirm that the ICS update is supposed to push the Bionic to 1.2ghz? I kinda doubt that it was really meant to change one of the hardware specs of the phone and overclock it. I could be wrong though.

Whoever is at fault here, VZW or Moto, needs a lesson in "under-promise and over-deliver". If they had said the Bionic would get ICS by 2013 all along, we'd have no room to complain. No better way to anger customers than keep dangling it in their face by saying it's coming soon. Case in point, the delays shouldn't really even bother me seeing as I am perfectly happy flashing the leaks, and also have a Nexus 7 sitting here with JB. The only reason it does matter to me is because I am still a Bionic customer and I think it's annoying seeing the missed deadlines.

Plus, Flash was not working properly on any release (100% properly) until now, so I think taking their time and getting everything right is more important than getting it out as fast as possible.

But why would Flash even matter? I know a lot of people use it, and I don't use it that much, but considering Adobe has said they are ending support for Flash on the Android it seems silly to delay ICS this long for that being even just one reason.

I think some definitions are needed. OC means Over Clocking and that is using an after-purchase technique to increase the clock speed from what was guaranteed by the manufacturer. It requires root-ing and violates the terms of most warranties.

The manufacturer measures the maximum clock speed and then guarantees it to a lesser value. They measure each device to see if it falls into an acceptable range above what is guaranteed before they release it for sale. If it fails when running at the guaranteed speed then they provide a replacement while you are under warranty.

In the reference provided I think they increased the clock speed covered by the warranty.

In everything I've read about the ICS leaks it seems that some people re getting 1.0 GHz and some people are getting 1.2 GHz with the same leak for no apparent reason. The Bionic was always advertised as 1.0 GHz. The Razr was always advertised as 1.2 GHz.

LOL, Dave, in one breath you say "works great" and then you mention lousy battery life. lousy battery life is a deal breaker issue for me. I dont want to worry about my phone needing a mid-day charge. thankfully the bionic can go all day with quite a bit of use.

Well, it doesnt do as well as my Bionic with the extended battery... that is true... and that is my reference... and yeah, it might sound like I'm contradicting myself, but I'm just being honest with my findings and such...and when I say quickly... I am talking about maybe 10hrs of moderate use. I do get through a business day with it.

If it was just the Bionic that has had data problems I would agree with you, however, EVERY 4G phone (at least up until a certain point) has had data drops. I don't think this points to the Bionic being flawed but rather how Verizon has done their network being flawed.

The Nexuses, the Razr's, all of them have had software updates since the Bionic which seems to have cleared up their data issues. Other phones released since then seem to have had the fix built in from the start.

And while we complain (and I among them) that we haven't gotten ICS yet, the Razr which is nearly identical to the Bionic has had issues since they got their ICS.

Droid RAZR & Droid RAZR MAXX ICS Issues Now Two Months Old

I could be wrong, but it seems that our ICS release is somehow tied to the Razr's ICS fix. Something tells me the two will be pushed out at the same time.

Tuesdays almost over, can we start making decisions now? It was a rough weekend. My friends wanted to know if we should go mexican or italian and was rather hard to explain why I couldn't make a decision. I also have a test tommorrow and need to decide on the answers.

Oh, also, would like to make a decision on the phone too.
