Request of the mods

This thread is a request to the mods or whoever in the world (of android forums that is) in charge of these things to create a forum for the new Samsung galaxy s2 on boost mobile.

The phone has been out over a week and I've been asking for a forum for the phone. ..

The s2 has about 5 different forums for the different versions on different carriers .. now can we please have one for ours?

Yes and no.. it is the.epiC 4g touch but it's on boost mobiles network. If you look in the phone lists you'll notice there are about 5 Samsung galaxy s2 threads. Because things are bound to be different between the 2.

I mean you wouldn't consider flashing a rom for att on a Verizon version of the same phone. It is carrier specific when dealing with a all things root section..

My only question is should we simply have a separate subforum for the Boost model within the Sprint version since they're so similar.
This is much like we've handled the Gnex and S3. Main forum all the same, root info separate.

Yes. I believe so because similar isn't the same and even if they were exactly the same people with the phone wouldn't know where to go for this phone to find things that are meant for this phone. The phone costs too much to be flashing things from a forum that isn't designed for this phone.. people (like myself will be too weary) if we have to just assume it will work on our phone. Do you see what I'm trying to say? I don't want to risk my phone finding out if another carriers roms and root process Will work for my carrier.

And I wouldn't mind that idea but my question would be do we even know that they are that similar? Has anyone compared the phones. The kernel, the source code, the specs? I don't.know the answers to.those questions because I don't have the version designed for Sprint I.guess if there is a separate root section than there is no harm done..

Can you let me know what you decide to do so I know where to look.

All I know is I don't know where to look for roms or root process at this point because nothing specifically points out boost mobile version

Ok. I didn't notice other boost version owners were already posting in the.Sprint versions forums. And by heresay I read on the.threads they.are believed to.be.the.same. But.at the.least we should have a atr subsection because no one is sure if they can use the roms and root methods for the Sprint version. Thanks for your time :thumbup:

No problem. There are so many variations of both the S1 and S2 it's hard for us to keep up.
Anytime someone is flashing, rooting or ROMing we always like to ensure their model is correct for the procedure.
I'm not overly familiar with the Boost S2 but if you find development is very different from the Epic 4G Touch, please let us know.

I'm not really sure. I thought about asking you directly about this issue. I don't know suroots, I've never had to request something like this b4. I only know we have only been given the option to share a forum with Sprints Samsung epic 4g touch. If you look on the forum everyone is really confused. We can't follow the same root guide. And people are unsure what they can flash or use from the forum. It's pretty much just confusion in there after 3 weeks. We still haven't gained a solid sense of what we are on that forum for. We're trying something different there to see how it works out. The different ATR - since that's the key point of importance when it comes to why they even need to be distinguished separately.

Hello, Nigel here. While I was building CM1-, I've noticed that every rom for the Sprint D710 works on the Boost D710, therefore it's the same device with nothing changed except branding. Sorry for kicking up an old thread, just thought I should give a developer's insight on things.
