Looking to get a Sammy SG3 this week but only if there is a service like iCloud. I want the ability to back all calendar, contacts, photos, game and app data just like iCloud does. If I had to switch my GS3 for a warranty unit I need to be able to keep everything and restore it just like the iphone does, I do not want to have to reload everything or lose any of my data?

Anyone switch from icloud and using some service from Google?

Thanks

well as long as you have a GMail account, your contacts are saved to that.

then as long as you sync your Calendar to your GMail, that will be backed up.

use Google Drive (or Dropbox) to backup your photos.

as for Game and App Data... that's pretty iffy. i tend to only play games that require a profile creation, cause most (still take this very cautiously) apps will backup your data for you, as long as you log back in on your new device.

in other cases, the data is usually saved to your internal memory, so as long as you copy all the folders on your phone, and then copy them back on your new device, that can sometimes restore your app data.

Do Mexicans eat Tacos? Yes. (insert humor here)
Anything Apple does you have with Google/Android. I switched and I think it's better. iCloud I keep for my iPad which I still use for spreadsheets and construction BluePrint reading. I'd probably get rid of ipad if i had extra cash for an android tablet. I blame my daughter wanting to go to college for this.

On the music side, I have my entire music library with room to spare. Calendar, Contacts, Photos, it's all there and I think even more storage without extra fees (not sure but it seems that way to me)

You can read any thread here, lots of converts here that will never go back to apple cell phones. It's just that much better. Lots of support here on forums too.

Edit:
1. for apps backup you can use Titanium Back program.
2. I Already had my contacts, etc with my Gmail account so as soon as I bought my 1st android and logged in it took almost one minute to have all my photos, contacts, etc to load up.
