[ROOT GUIDE] Boost Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2

how do i remove odin and start over? kies wont recognize anything and my sd card wotn show as long as odin is still in my comp.

Kies won't 'recognize' during Odin, Kies only supplies Windows drivers while Odin is open.

You need the PC version of Odin and I cannot tell by your post if you have the PC version.

.
.
edit: both the mobile version and PC version of Odin need to be runnig at the same time.

I beleive I am rooted now but...no "binary" was installed. I do not have Super User =/
But the triangle IS there and so is the Kernal...

If you are rooted you will some type of SuperUser app in ur app drawer. Also administrator apps will ask for superUser permission now.

And the mobile version of Odin came with stock S2: volume- & power button.

I'd like to confirm that a bug/issue I have noticed despite the installation of Kies, the computer will not show Phone. All it says is removable F, H and I. The only way I can do anything is if I go to Recovery. I assume this isn't supposed to happen? Also I posted removable apps on the all things root section of the epic 4g touch :D
When you can, please respond.

Ok, I saw that one question I had was answered, but the other one was asked and not answered. When that triangle with the exclamation point shows up, It is the concensus that it's letting Boost know, that the phone has either been rooted, or a change has been made to the phone. So, In essence, isnt that like when you have illegal sattelite TV, and they can send a packet, or ECM to your box, that will shut it down??

If rooting is breaking the TOS, and you need root to tether, cant they access your phone and ban your account for not paying the 10 dollars for non unlimited data that they call unlimited?? lol

ANOTHER question. When the phone is rooted, and you do get tether working, does the hotspot feature work? Will it allow more than one computer access at a time?? I will be getting this phone soon, and Im thinking that the longer I wait, the better, as new stuff comes out for rooting and such on a regular basis, so by the time I do get the S2, I should have access to everything needed to root and tether.

Rooting isn't breaking the terms of service. Rooting is violating the 30 day warranty you get from boost along with whatever warranty that Samsung sticks on the phone.

As far as tethering goes, I think it would be pretty difficult for them to figure out that you're tethering without actually spying on your data.
