Help Extremely High Data Usage by AndroidOS

I've looked at other recommended posts but to no avail.

My sister has an S2 and I've got an S3,

For some odd reason the AndroidOS is the cause of 99% of Data Usage, with about 1.66GB of data over 2 days!!

I don't know what she has installed but I need to get rid of it, she has no clue either, I've scanned the phone using AVG and it did not show up anything, I uninstalled unpopular apps and games and only left those with over 1,000,000 downloads.

Any clues would be extremely helpful, formatting it is my last resort.

Thanks a lot.

(by the way, by looking at other recommended posts, do not tell me to turn off data when I do not need it...)

no she does not, Netflix is not supported here

I formatted the phone last evening, overnight it(AndroidOS) used 100MB again

jaliy are you sure it is YouTube? She has the YouTube widget but under Data Usage "YouTube" got it's own category with 1.43MB

EDIT: Onavo states that AndroidOS used up 93.36MB on "Streaming Media"

what could it be?

I noticed that AndroidOS is all of a sudden using a lot of data too. I'm on ICS and the data usage app doesn't give any other info other than its 'AndroidOS' that is using the data. I check my data use from time to time and I've not had this appear before

I've formatted the phone again and decided to do what's called a Binaric Search

I've installed half of the apps she used to have, wait a day and see if it causes the problem again, if not, install another half of the rest of the apps(half of half = quarter), then one half of the quarter(one eight) etc...

Then, at some point, when it happens, I will know that one of the apps installed at the last day caused it and start to work on those apps until I can pinpoint the source of it.

So far so good, two days gone by and only 204KB, installed whatsapp, facebook, youtube, chrome, a bunch of games, Waze.

It's not YouTube btw

I seem to be having a similar problem, although it cant be email or an app as i havent installed any!
I've had my phone 4-5 months and NEVER had data usage problems, ive barely scratched 200mb a month with my data always on, now i have it off completely, earlier today i turned it on for half an hour and Android OS ate 12MB of data, in half an hour?!
I have no syncs on, auto-update is off, nothing has auto refresh, what on earth is going on?
I've rang samsung, they said it's not the phone contact your network provider, i rang them (vodafone) and they said it's the phone?!
I took it into several phone shops and they said call samsung/vodafone and NO ONE KNOWS WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON?!
