Lock screen

Does anybody know if there is any way to remove the grey bar displaying the time and date from the lock screen?.I just want the screen to display my chosen picture without it being obscured with it.

Um, pass. I know what you mean though.

I notice there are some "lock screen" apps on the Market. Not sure what they do or if they might interfere with this though.

Think you can only do this if you are rooted.

I think you would extract the relevant PNG file from com.htc.resources.apk, edit or replace it, repack (and possibly resign) the APK, then replace it on your handset. Don't take this as gospel though - I'm only going by a brief note I made months ago when exploring the file structure.
