Root [1st Gen] What is the SIMPLEST way to root???

I'm having the same problem. I have a Kindle Fire (1st gen), but the version is 10.1.3 and I can't find any instructions looking around online for rooting this version.

If anyone knows how to root KF 10.1.3, please help

i could be wrong, but i thought 10.1.3 referred to 2nd generation kindles. you sure you have the first gen kf?

Having "root" on the KF in my opinion is pointless. I'm not a huge fan of the stock Amazon software and I could care less if I have a rooted version of the stock software. What you really want is to install a custom recovery (TWRP) which will give you the ability to flash a custom rom (which will also obviously be a rooted rom).

I used KFU to install TWRP and then flashed the FFF v1.4a bootloader in TWRP. From there you can do anything you want. Even if you wanted a stock amazon rom that was rooted, I would just get the Modaco ROM with the Amazon setup and google play.

u install the drivers and plug in the kindle fire and click run.bat and enter 2 and it will root it

I went right for option #3 (install permanant root w/superuser). Go big or go home I thought. followed onscreen directions. I think it also installed TWRP all in one shot.

Although, I had a problem with the included driver package. Said it couldnt install. Wasnt signed or something. It finally went thru.

At any rate, I think this was as simple as it could go. Id like to see better directions in the OP tho.

Remember to thank the guys who make our devices so much better.:D
