Hey all!

I've been putting a lot of time into a new keyboard for Android 1.5+.

It has a new look and feel, a concise tool bar with easier cut/copy/paste features, speech-to-text, language translation, easier hidden popup keys, extended customizable settings, and more.

I currently have a free trial, and a paid ($1.99) full version on the market.

Please let me know what you think. How can I do better? What problems have you found? I've gotten a couple of unhappy responses in the Trial especially, without much explanation as to what is happening. (Force close? When/how?) I'm definitely looking for some constructive criticism!

Change Log:

- 1.0: Initial release
- 1.0.1: Fixed stupid settings force-close (my fault...)
- 1.0.2: Trial is now time-limited to 12 hours; removed app version requirement (hopefully fix problems with modded phones not finding the app?)
- 1.0.3: The enter key can insert line breaks

Improvements in the works:

- The ability to connect your phone to your home computer and use your desktop keyboard to type text messages and anything else. I've been personally wanting this, and it's what got me started on this app in the first place! I have noticed a couple of solutions out there, but I decided I'd turn it into something bigger than just a remote keyboard.

- A "key size" preference. Some people might find the keys a bit too small; some a bit too large. That's easily remedied.

- The ability to quickly "peek" behind the keyboard when it's in full-screen/landscape mode, without closing the keyboard completely (so you can see your text message backlog, for example). Think Windows 7 "aero peek"! I love this idea... my brother gets all the credit for that one.

- Theme support... The ability to hide the toolbar... Many more small improvements.

Odd. Market problems w/ your modded Eris maybe? I have a few people using Eris w/ 1.5 and no problems. Try to do a search for pub:"Binary Bulge" on your phone.

Same problem here, really want to try it, but it won't show up for me. the suggestion above doesn't work either.

It looks like a great piece of software, but you're going to lose users if they have to play Where's Waldo to get it...

LOL... this is true. I suspect it's because you guys are using an early/leaked version of 2.1 on your Erises. The version strings the market expects probably don't jive. Since my app sets a minimum requirement of 1.5, the market must think you're older than that. I'll bet you can't see anything that has that requirement set in the Application Manifest.

I removed the flag. Let me know if it works for you guys now. I just hope people are smart enough to not try installing if they have pre-1.5 (soft keyboards didn't even come around until Cupcake).

Still no joy. I've tried by name ("Ultra Keyboard"), by pname (pname:com.binarybuldge.android.apps.keyboard.full), and by pub (pub:"Binary Buldge"), still can't find it.

I know of at least one other app I can't get since the upgrade (Tetrads 2.0, the tetris game), but don't consider it as critical as this. ;-)

Thanks for keeping me updated. I'll try to look more deeply into this issue.

BTW, there's no D in "bulge".
pname is com.binarybulge.android.apps.keyboard.full
pub is Binary Bulge

My mistake. I had the pname right (came from a barcode scan off of some android site), but the pub was wrong. Still can't find it with the right spelling though.

I have Version 5.5.4 of the Ultra Keyboard and I have a couple of questions.
1) How does "translate" work? The documentation mentions it and it's on the toolbar, but there are no instructons for it.
2) When using Office Suite Pro in landscape mode, I cannot see what I am typing, and there is a button marked "execute" that doesn't seem to do anything. What does it do & how can I see my text in landscape mode.

I would buy this app if I could see what I was typing in landscape. Is there something I am doing wrong. I really like seeing what I am typing. Otherwise love the app but this is a deal breaker

Phone reboots randomly after trial version is installed and used once. Reboots repeatably every time the power switch is touched, even for a fraction of a second.

Problem disappears when uninstalled, reappears when reinstalled.

I have tried emailing you about an issue I am having, I hope you can answer this through here - sometimes while I am typing with your keyboard, the whole phone will just start vibrating like I am getting a call and will not stop until I turn phone off and back on. Do you know how I can fix this issue?
