Metro disappear in 2013?

Aint gonna happen. I mean Metro has released more 4G phones in the past 6 months than they have had available at any given time a year ago.

PLUS, they have just expanded their data speeds and upped their network.

I highly doubt a company that has expanded as much as metro has in the past 6 months is going away ANYTIME soon.


Also, prepaid is becoming the way to go. I bet within 10 years you will have nothing BUT prepaid plans. People are becoming wise and realizing that they can get the same thing that the top 4 offers but at half the price and with no contract. I see the top 4 slowly changing to nothing but prepaid plans. They will have to compete with the marking thus giving them no choice.

1. Keep the low price plans as it is.

i dont get it. the article seems to be comparing them to the 4 major companies and saying they're in trouble. metroPCS is the most successful prepaid going right now and as long as they continue to cater to their customer base they should be fine.

they dont have to compete with the big 4 to survive. they just have to stay atop boost, virgin and all other prepaids.

If they combined Virgin, Boost and Metro it wouldnt be far behind tmobile which has 34 million but the only reason they put virgin and boost on wimax is because they have contracts with the carriers to sell there stock of wimax phones.

Metro also wont merge with anyone, why? Because they wouldnt have just expanded their data service speeds. Something that Im sure wasn't cheap.

I don't get it...I continue to read that metro is the 6th highest cell phone company. Why would they not continue to keep getting better rather than merge with someone else? I don't no much about business related stuff but what's the reason behind the merge? Do they really think they cant become a top cell phone provider? By the end of this year/ next year tell me why metro couldn't be a top 3 or 4 competitor?

metropcs isnt going anywhere..

they're the 5th largest phone company in the US and the #1 non contract company in the US. they neither have the need or intention of going away. why quit when you're ahead?

tmobile and metro will share each others purks. tmobile gets metros spectrum and we get theirs. metro will have better coverage, faster LTE speeds, and a better selection of phones. both of our footprints will increase.

the CDMA phase out was planned by metro long before all of this. this merger allows metro to do it much faster. we'll be using tmobile phones on metro by summertime of next year.

the question now is what metro's rate plans will be.

Exactly. But being that shit might not work out how they want to, I'm assuming that it could change, if not multiple times.

But at least an actual detailed plan list of their attempts instead of side stepping with their answers and not being straight forward .

At least people would then understand what exactly is in store and possibilities of what could and could not happen.

It's obvious metro is seriously lacking in the PR department.

But I guess they can't really comment yet, as the deal is not gonna be finalized until at least Q1/Q2 of 2012.
Which brings the question of WHY would you EVER try a move such as this just as you are releasing your most anticipated device ever?!!!?
Could this REALLY not have waited until after the holiday season?
