Help A Samsung Moment upgraded ver = Samsung Galaxy "PRO" S?

What has been turning me off to the new phones such as the Evo and Galaxy S is that they are full touch phones and I am dependent on a physical keyboard because I am able to type incredibly fast on one. But then I came upon this link:

So my thoughts are if the Moment doesn't get the attention it deserves then my interest is with this phone. I know "its still Samsung" but its going to be the newest Android phone with a physical slide out keyboard and as far as the Galaxy goes, it seems like a great phone. If its everything The Galaxy is with the addition of a physical keyboard then I know I watched a video where they stated it would have an 80% light reflective screen, "SUPER" AMOLED screen, etc.

What do you guys think? Or has anyone else heard about anything more about this phone? I'm just excited about this phone and wanted to share.

Nah bro -- that's photo shopped Engadget confirmed it. Would be COOL yeah. But I think this would be my last samsung phone anyway.

Samsung will be releasing a GSM "Galaxy S Pro" design, but this is more than likely going to replace their Omnia line, not the Moment. The Moment 2 is supposedly already done, featuring their new Hummingbird processor line, more memory (512MB/1GB?) and the DTV chip for pulling in local DTV broadcasts.

We'll see how that comes together though vs. the rumors that are out there.

There's no word yet that it's even coming to the US, much less in CDMA form. My current Samsung experience has taught me that they make great hardware, then move quickly on to the next device with little thought about supporting the current model much less older stuff. Samsung has a dumb phone mentality in a smart phone world. I prefer physical keyboards, but if in my next upgrade the only choice is between another Samsung phone with a keyboard or a HTC phone without? Goodbye keyboard!

Hell, the way this phone is, I'm only trusting HTC for Android phones from Sprint, unless Motorola throws a good one at us.

Yea it would. (Albeit I've seen iphone users type like crazy).

Anyone have a link for any info on the Moment 2? But if HTC ends up making an Android + phys keyboard phone then I'm on it. Their phones seem to have more heart going to them and I don't doubt their keyboards either (touch pro 2 was real nice).

Specs have been reported as anything from the Hummingbird to the same 800Mhz processor featured in the current model. I don't know for sure, but I buy into the fact that they will launch the 2 with the 1Ghz Hummingbird and double the memory (probably the 3.2 super AMOLED, but maybe the 4"?)

Well I'm going to feed the flames and still chase after this rumor. @Solo yea it is photoshopped but engadget is now saying there's a reliable analyst by the name of "Eldar" that's saying this could be true. I'm not saying this is coming out for sure but check out the link.

Edit: So in other words, the picture and even the name(?) is just a mock up of what could be a real product that may actually be coming out (Samsung Galaxy with a physical keyboard).

@MATTCH - You are completely correct... There will be a QWERTY slider Galaxy S Pro... Unfortunately, it's a GSM variant of the Galaxy S with a physical keyboard. The only easy way to compare it is that Samsung released 4 phones in the Omnia line up last year (one of which made a US appearance).

The Omnia line was running a bloated Windows Mobile with TouchWiz II on top of it.
The i8000 (also came as the Omnia 2 to Verizon) - was a touch screen only device.
The B7610 was a QWERTY slider based off the i8000, although different looking, it was a very similar spec'd device.
The B7320 was a front facing QWERTY bar that didn't do well at all.
The other model was a 'lite' version of the i8000 that didn't do well either.

We should see the Galaxy and the Galaxy Slider coming soon with Android (probably still have TouchWiz over the top) until WinPhone 7 or Bada gives Samsung something else to play with. I doubt any of these will come in a CDMA variant, but with WiMAX going live in June with the Evo, maybe???

I read on Engadet that there seems to be an LG ANDROID phone with a QWERTY and the same screen size as the evo & nexus coming along the way *supposedly* I don't know much about LG phones, also not much info on it but its worth keeping an eye out.

I was actually looking forward to the Inbrics android slider...turns out just to be a MID and not an actual phone *I cried inside* Sigh I doubt we will see nice android qwerty sliders anytime soon, If we do I hope its from HTC or even..dare I say it Motorolla?

I think we'll end up seeing minimal launches until 4Q this year. Everyone will jump on the Evo and they'll ride that for about 3 months (June to September) and then start the 4Q releases for the holiday season. At least that's what I'd do... lol

Think ima get the evo. I love the moment and need a querty but at this point with android I'm not gonna put my money in anything but htc. They seem to be the only ones who seem to put any after care into their phones and that's something ill give up a keyboard for. And believe me I have big gorilla defensive tackle hands so a physical keyboard is of upmost importance for me.

I got a funny feeling that anyone that jumps on any of these devices: Evo, Galaxy S, a Galaxy S Pro, a CDMA LG 710, etc... Will be very disappointed overall and will feel stuck next year when the 'big-dogs' hit.

These currently rumored devices won't be dramatically different than the Moment once 2.1 is official. Honestly, they will probably have a bigger battery drain than what we have now with the larger screens and bigger processors.

I think the big 'movers' will be the devices announced at the end of this year to early next year when 2.5/3.0 begins to trickle out and WinPhone 7 comes into play. Not so much that WinPhone will be a huge big deal to Android users, but that it will make Android step up their game - much like Android is doing to the iPhone OS right now.

Should be interesting come September and the WinPhone announcements to see what Droid fires back with.

There's always the next thing over the horizon. Just a few years ago, you might have had a year before the bigger better thing came along, now it's a couple of months or less. I wonder if the industry is moving to a point where the rapid succession of devices will freeze consumers into almost permanent state of wait.

Personally, vanilla android sucks. It's way too clunky. The phone app stinks and the 3rd party replacements are slow. Email still stinks since imap folder support stinks and there is no idle push. Email in 2.1 doesn't help, and still treats gmail as its own entity and of course it's the only one that gets all the features. K-9 is just OK, but it's tedious and doesn't sync well with the server. I don't think I'd buy another vanilla android phone.

And thankfully I have two lines to play with so I can get the Evo in the summer and whatever tickles my fancy in the winter. And why HTC doesn't make a hard keyboard phone is beyond me. I'd take the upcoming Dell Smoke or Lightning if they were on CDMA.

What's happening in the mobile phone world is what happened to the PC world during 1999-2008. Rapid cycles of development and upgrading. You'd see new, faster, better parts every few months. It's come to a crawl compared to then. You see maybe a few updates in lines and new stuff a year now in the PC world.

The mobile world hasn't come an ahead yet so I'd estimate maybe another year or two before things really slow down on the faster equipment/better software front. That is if battery manufacturers keep up, since batteries are the biggest downfall of all this technological improvement. Batteries are significantly behind in power output while keeping a low thermal profile. Battery technology needs to come a long way to become acceptable.

I'd rather see the Incredible with a keyboard. I slider EVO would be huge. Though I want Dell's vertical slider if I had to choose a form factor and next gen device.

If the glaxy s pro is real, here is what will be the deal maker for me would be...

- Sprint network
- 4G
-Somewhat decent quarty (though i would probably settle for a bad one lol)
