Dear All
I have a few question, Hope I'll get some positive response.
I have a HTC sensation running 2.3.3. I want to upgrade it to ICS. Is it good to go for a upgrade or just this phone should stay as it is, i want to know in terms of phone speed battery usage and other problems.
If not then Can I upgrade it to 2.3.5 Gingerbread? and what is the procedure to upgrade.

Thanking you in anticipation.

There are lots of posts in this forum about people having problems once they have updated the Sensation to ICS. So it will not always follow that an upgrade will work better. Sometimes it can cause problems.

I was (and still am) in the same position as the OP and I posted a thread a while ago to try to find out just how widespread these problems were, as it is true to say that bad news travels further and quicker than good news. However I got very little response one way or the other.

My advice to the OP is to go back through those old threads and have a good read. Then make your own mind up whether to risk it or not. Me? I am still not sure, because at the moment my phone does all I want it to do.

I used the "software updates" option in Phone and now my phone is updated it ICS 4.0.3. So what's the difference between this update and the other risky process which involves rooting flashing etc.? I have read why rooting is done. But want to know the real potential benefits of that "risky rooting and upgrading procedure" rather than this Legal/official update via "software Updates"

And one more thing will I be able to get ICS 4.1 update using this " software update"? Right now it says my phone is up to date.

Thanks :)

If HTC, and subsequently your carrier, decide to release the update to your phone, then yes. As far as I know, and someone else may have more information, those decisions have not yet been made.
