Root How can you tell if you partitioned your SD Card Correctly?

Bought a pny 16 gb class 10. What is the best way to see if it partitioned correctly? swipe was 32, then 2048 ext, fat 32 remainder, but upgraded ext 2 to ext 3. Thanks in advance.

I believe in Terminal Emulator (an app in the play store) you can type:
su (enter)
a2sd check (enter)

Thanks, I haven't done that as I think I screwed up. I ended up doing the partition, then after it, did the flash with superwipe. But I didn't flash the rom because I didn't know how, so it put me in a continuous bootloop. From there I did a recovery and redid the rooting process. I guess the question I should ask is, how do you flash a rom? That has got me stumped. I have the mikg 3.1. I guess you have to go back to the mikg zip file and reinstall it every time?

I am pretty sure it is partitioned, seems like everything is still there, etc...

o.k...if you partitioned your sd card while in recovery, your sd card got wiped. Make sure you have your rom of choice on sd card.
Then, in recovery, wipe everything except sd card 3 times, then flash the rom

When I partitioned the new card, nothing was on it, I partitioned it, then transferred everything from the old card to the new card. Then I flashed, but didn't flash rom because I didn't know how. So I rebooted, and it put me into a continuous boot, so I had to redo the rooting process after I did a system recovery.

After the re-rooting process, all the files are still on the card.

Anyway, when flashing the rom, do you go back to the mikg zip file and re-install it? Is that how you flash your rom?

BTW, I will do exactly what you have stated previously, but just want to make sure that the correct way to flash a rom is going back to how you install the rom in the first place. Thanks again for your help!

I dont think I follow you when you said, re-rooted? Did you unroot at one point? And as long as the mikg rom zip is on sd card, you can use that zip to flash... ...once its on the sd card, no need to reinstall on sd card...did I follow your question correctly?

When I did the system recovery, it put me back to the pre-root state. So I had to do the root again. Didn't take long.

Rom flash--I think you have answered it. Just go to flash from sd card, go back to the mikg zip file and confirm. By doing that it will recognize that it is already installed and instead will flash the rom. Correct?

I guess that would depend on how long after the rom flash, you partition.
Lets say in my case, my rom has been in use for a few months. I decide to repartition my card via recovery...I will lose all sd contents including my apps since they are on the sd-ext.
After partitioning, my rom will still be there, less my apps. Unless I first copied my card contents to my computer...windows will not show the sd-ext 3 or 4 but it will be there. Even when I transfer contents back after re-partitioning.
I even formatted via windows, a partitioned sd card. Window showed nothing on sd card but when installed in a phone, apps showed up that were on the ext.

Ok, so the partitioning can be done (assuming you are staying on the same ROM) later.
Reason I ask is, I had issues (re)flashing Decks,while using a brand new micro sd card and partitioning.

Was it a class 10 card? Like what kind of issues? Just curious cuz I have a class 10 card and I have issues upon reboot with apps/widgets gone but found a workaround for that

You are talking about internal memory?
And how are you gauging that?

Maybe it isn't accurate, but was using the task manager. It says 404 and 293 is being used. Not terrible of course.

That worked, are there any apps, especially those that run in the background that cannot be moved from the internal drive to the sd card no matter what? I have plenty of internal storage.

Some, if not all system apps I think cannot be moved.
Your user and private apps will auto matically be moved now when downloaded from here on out.
You can also move dalvik to sd-ext if desired but if you are good with internal space, dont worry about it....sometimes if you move dalvik, it will cause issues, sometimes.

Gotcha, I guess some of the apps that I would like to move are still a 90/10 move meaning that a little bit still stays on the internal drive. It's not a huge deal or anything. Just was hoping to totally unload some of my apps completely to the sd card.
