THEY HAVE LOCKED SUPERUSER as well as rootchecker

yes, that is right, google play has stopped me from uploading super user and rootchecker. will someone please link me the correct version of super user bc i am dead in the water without haveing that version. superuser(1) i can allow, but the super user which is already in place is not allowing it, thus not letting my install busy box, which is also not letting my restore my backups thru titan backup.


PLEAAASE, i need help here. freaking virgin mobile bastards...

any ideas?
i need the correct version is superuser, or a custom rom, or a flash of the stock rom. the factory reset as you know does nothing.
superuser was in the play store a few days ang and is now gone. ffs. that made me so mad when i saw that. i tried to get it from the site, but i dont know which version will work. and dont want to risk further fubar.

yea, i cant get permissions in anything, not even for an old version of super user to update itself. dang, sierously need a stock rom here.

Here is something called "SuperUser Update Fixer" whose description kinda reminds me of your post:

It says incompatible with Venture, but you might try emailing the developer (using the email link in the description) to have that adjusted.

Here's the SuperUser APK from my phone. You may want/need to rename it to com.noshufou.android.su.apk; I think mine got the com.noshufou.android.su-1.apk from some messy uninstalling/reinstalling.

There's no need for rootchecker, just try 'su' in a terminal or the adb shell...that should tell you for sure, right?

super user is giving me the "not compatible with this phone" or what ever.
so i am going to assume vm or samsung or someone has told google play to deny their phones the root tools, such as super user, and root checker.

previously, say 1-2 weeks ago these apps were available.

great now my wifi doesnt work. i really need a stock rom flash. super user is installed, but busy box tells me its not rooted, cannot run the su command.
will a backed up stock rom work. man, i have f'ed my phone pretty badly. i am trying to get wifi to work so i can use the busybox installer.....as it tell me the internet connection is not good enough to download it inside the "busybox installer app"
and the "busybox" app standalone tells me its not rooted.
back to the busy box installer app, it tells me in the window that my phone is rooted. i am giving all the permissions with the super user that is installed that i can.

It's weird about the Play store telling you stuff is incompatible. What if you unregister your phone and re-register it?

As for wifi, have you done all the usual stuff? Make sure network is really working right with another device, reboot phone, disable and re-enable wifi on phone, make sure phone isn't set for a static IP, try setting up for a static IP, if your network make sure router isn't filtering, if school/public/etc network check if you're registered, check if VPN i turned off, etc? I recently had mobile data not working, turned out it was disabled (most likely by battery saver)...since I hadn't disabled it I figured it was broken until I actually checked.

and yes, i CAN get busybox, but it wont freaking install. tells me it cant find the su command.

im about to just buy a different phone, or the same phone again. sorry dude, it doesnt sound like your understanding me. busy box wont install as a stand alone.
the busy box installer NOW just goes thru the install cycle forever. i have let it sit over night, and it never completed the install.
i have root, and super user now. just cant get busy box to install, thus cant get titan back up work.

Sorry, I'm just not very experienced with Android. I wish somebody who knows more would show up in this thread.

I don't know how to unregister and reregister, but I imagine a search can provide that answer.

I wonder if it's possible to unpack the APK and manually place busybox files wherever they need to be.

sooo, i called virgin mobile, little do they know i have a "rooted" (psh, not like i can use it) phone, and told them my wifi wouldnt work, and that i cant get certain apps from google play, which are both true, he tried to do a couple things, it didnt work...long story short, they are sending me a new phone. yes, virgin mobile is sending me a new tct venture....AND get this, i didnt buy the extra warrenty.....

ok, so i was told i have to (on my old phone) wipe market data, but i dont know how.....i googled, and got nowhere.

to clear data on play store app,navigate to system,apps and pick play store. youll see the app settings for uninstall,etc..clear its cache and data. also clear google services framework thats in the apps menu as well. then reboot. it may resolve the issues with downloading apps.

They usually do that & get this. when u get the new phone your free one year warranty restarts!
