Any idea as to when Lucid well get 4.0

Ok just tried the software update on my Lucid, I'm getting the download error that most others areas well. If you hit the INFO button, under update status you'll see Failed update. I tried the Lg tool and it downloaded a pdf file that referenced Lucid ICS called "RDL-1207-00094_PDM_LG-VS840_VZW_QRG_ES_Printout_V1.2_ICS_120711.pdf" So maybe we are getting ICS at least and they're having problems with it on the servers or something........

jhcii, where did you find that pdf? I used the LG tool, but didn't turn up any downloads at all.

LG mobile support tool. Customer Support drop down menu, Application, Manual and USB Driver Download. when you click on it you get an option to input your imei/esn/meid after that you click the box beside it (sheet of paper with magnifing glass) and it will download that file. You can't open it as there is a error in the coding of the pdf file.

I talked to a Verizon rep today and he said the phone isn't updated enough for ICS.I also said to him that when I picked up my Lucid, that rep said the Lucid WILL be getting ICS.So I hope that we are getting it.I have several problems with this phone and this is my second Lucid within two months.I'm having a problem with Facebook especially when I have full bars and it says I have no connection when I open Facebook.Same with almost any other app that requires the internet, but mostly just Facebook.Anyone else experiencing this problem?

I song have any issues using the Facebook app I Hagenuk tried the website but I have seen on a forum a section people were talking about the issue. my wife has the droid charge and is always having trouble with Facebook while I have the infuse and never had one. and as far as vzw saying that the lucid not getting ics. it is on their news page that they always tell costumer to go to for more information on updates that LG lucid is scheduled to receive ics

I think the Facebook app is crap in general. But I had also had the issue where data kept dropping out on me, no matter where I was. Ended up contacting Verizon and going through several steps:

- First, I went and got a new sim card. Didn't fix it.
- Called them and told them it didn't fix it, and then they had me reboot in safe mode to eliminate any software interference. That wasn't it.
- They had me try downloading a tool from the Play store that supposedly 'fixes' issues caused by battery saver apps. Didn't work
- They ended up sending me a replacement phone. Didn't do it.
- Called them yesterday and let them know it wasn't working. Answered various questions about where I live, where I normally use it, etc. etc. Rep checked on the network and things like that. Eventually what he did (at least what I interpreted) was remove my data plan all together in their system, had me remove the battery and sim, then he added the plan back and had me put the sim and battery back in.

Now, since then, I have to say that the data has been more reliable. Facebook still seems to flake out, but not nearly as often. So you may want to go through Verizon and have them try that trick with yours. Hearing that the ICS isn't coming is freaking depressing though. To think that I'm stuck with this phone for two years and no update is terrible. That's truly a rip off if true, as many LG phones (not just ours) were promised ICS updates.

If this last 'fix' didn't/doesn't work, their next step was to open a trouble ticket on the towers in the area. So, that will give you a good idea of how few problem reports they get on this phone. They'd rather check a bunch of towers than maybe offer me something else. :D But I would encourage anyone if they are having issues to report them and not just live with it. Maybe if we get enough incidents together, they may decide to do something (i.e. replacements or an upgrade).

Yeah, looking at that pdf, it's gotta be coming out soon. I tried google translate on it, but I only got a few words here and there. Anyone here know Spanish?

How sure are you of this?Should upload the PDF and maybe someone can translate it :D

this was great prior to the $100 deductible on insurance

Huh?

And if it can help anything, here is the link to the current Lucid firmware:

http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdat...K/VS840ZV6_06/VS840ZV6_06.S6_06.P58014.R5.cab

Edit: I'm not sure what country this is for. It may not be the version for the US Lucid.

ZV6 is the current software we have (or should have) on the Lucid. I think the new version is going to be ZV7 or higher depending on what the upgrade is (ICS or JB). The folks at Verizon that I have talked to imply that the Lucid isn't going to get ICS but will be getting JB instead. We'll just have to wait and see. I know mine is still getting the "A download error has occurred for your software update. Please try again later." So I'm thinking of popping into my local store and totally go postal on them about why isn't my phone downloading this new software it says is available?????
