Is the Note 2 launching in the US on Oct. 24?

Just found the following article that claims the Note 2 will be launched on T Mobile on Oct. 24.

Anyone have any news about the launch of Note 2? I'd really like to pre order the Note 2 on Verizon as soon as it is available for pre-order. Usually pre orders are available about a week before the official launch so it would be great to have the opportunity to order the Verizon phone in the coming weeks...

So far other than the link you posted, nothing has been mentioned of launch dates for the other carriers. You'll probably have to do what the rest of us are doing- Google like crazy!

Honestly I just can't take T-Mobile seriously for this phone. They have a pretty small 4G LTE network as does Sprint. AT&T and Verizon have pretty large ones. I realize this will change over time, but the fact that this phone will likely be off the market and ancient history before they get their 4G LTE setups completed.

I'm basing this primarily off my location, the DC area. An area one would reasonably expect to have the latest technology based on population. It's on the list of future markets, but it also has a lot of 2g spots still. Kind of a waste for a nice phone like the Note 2.

T-Mobile probably has the best value to speed ratio on the market. No, they don't have LTE, but I consistently pull 5+ mb/s and regularly get 10+ on my galaxy nexus here in OKC. Plus, I've tested speeds even faster on phones compatible with their 42+ (the G Nexus only uses their 21+). That is by far sufficient if not comparable to some locations of LTE. Plus, my bill between my wife and I is less than 80/month for two smartphones, all the minutes we need, and two 2GB data plans. Scoff if you want, but I would be paying twice as much for Verizon or AT&T.

Sprint, go ahead and trash. I was with them for years and got tired of having to hope to get over a mb/s.

Agreed. I've been doing a little research on tmob and they have good coverage from what I can tell. They also have the second highest speeds only second to VZ and that's with their HSPA+. From what I understand they will be implementing their LTE next year so that will make it just that much faster. With that being said though, if you don't have good coverage in your area then obviously tmob wouldn't be appealing.

Soooooo ready to get my hands on this phone. I have been an iPhone user for 4 years. Love the device, very intuitive, and reliable. Wife just got the iPhone 5, nice, but thats about it....nice. To me the Note 2 has a WOW factor and I really want to try it. The iTunes store is top notch...I am hoping the Google Play is also. Really looking forward to the Note and very well could be saying goodbye to the iphone. Apple needs to step up with their technology.

Pre-orders will guarantee you a device, as far as the US providers are concerned. I honestly don't think there will be a shortage because I don't see this being a device that "everybody" will want, necessarily. Not saying it won't be popular, but it just won't be a device that will run out of stock. That said, I also think it depends on where you pre-order.

The only thing that would prevent me from pre-ordering is if the 10/24 announcement event comes and it's announced that the 32 and/or 64gb versions will be available through all providers, and sold through all retailers, later in the year. If no definitive word is given on the 32 or 64gb versions, at the 10/24 event, I'll be pre-ordering (or buying) the Galaxy Note 2 from Best Buy as soon as it's available. I just hope Sprint doesn't do the illogical thing again and only sell the higher memory versions through Sprint stores (like they did with the SGS 3).

Thanks! I'll plan on doing the same thing through best buy if I can. Can't imagine I would ever use the 64GB one... I have a 32GB memory card now that I haven't been able to fill more than 29GB.

The only things I buy from Best Buy nowadays are phones. I've had much more pleasant experiences upgrading through Best Buy than directly through Sprint. Their pre-order process is extremely easy (although, I think they changed it up slightly, more recently). In the past, you just go in to place a pre-order (whenever the pre-order is available) and you'll usually have to put $50 down, which is put on a gift card. They'll take your name and contact information and put that information down on a list of all the pre-orders they have that day. Once the device is actually released, if you still plan on purchasing, you'll receive a call form Best Buy Mobile stating that your device is ready for pickup. From that point, you have 72 hours to go in and purchase the phone. The $50 gift card you are given can be used towards the phone or whatever else you want (if you decide not to purchase the phone). I've also been told by people, in the past, that you'd be able to get your money back should you decide not to purchase the phone.

What's great is, even though the 14 day period for your Sprint contract extension still applies, Best Buy still allows you their 30 day return/exchange policy for the actual phone. So even if you can't retrieve your upgrade after 14 days, you can certainly still go in to best buy to exchange the phone if it's not what you were expecting. And you can also get price matches within that timeframe.

Lucky for me, I'm a Silver Premiere Rewards member, which extends that timeframe to 45 days, rather than 30. So, assuming this phone officially releases at the end of October/early November, I'll still have until mid-December, in the event there's some crazy holiday sale that I can have them price match!

T-Mo was one of the first to have 3G on the Metro, no?
I have solid LTE in most of the city on Verizon and I know AT&T is great as well. Curious to see how T-Mo will do and if help from the MetroPCS purchase will mean much.

LOL! I have to get a Verizon mifi device just to make my Sprint LTE phone usable. Sprint data is just sickeningly bad. It's almost a crime that they charge you for it with an LTE phone.

Since we're only talking about a Best Buy purchase, you'd only be able to exchange for a different phone at Best Buy at that time. No clue how ATT's policies are. I'm only referring to this based on Sprint's policy in relation to Best Buy upgrade/new member.

Wish there was a Best Buy insider in here. There have been peeps in the past that had inside info to Best Buy, but haven't seen anybody mention connection in the Note 2 forum.
