Hello everyone. This is my first rooting experience, so I apologize for my general ignorance and narb status in these matters. I recently got a Droid 4 and rooted using the GB only Droid 4 Utility. After rooting I tried flashing a ROM, and got into some trouble after a wipe.
Currently, the phone is stuck at the 'dual core' splash screen when I turn it on. After I first I rooted, I installed Safestrap v1.09 and made a backup, which I still have on my SD card, but for some reason I'm unable to boot into Safestrap since the wipe—hitting menu during boot is ineffective, and the safestrap splash screen does not appear.
Theses are all the steps I took to get to where I am.
1. Rooted phone
2. Installed Safestrap v1.09
3. Installed Rootkeeper
4. Made Saftestrap Backup
5. Did a Factory Wipe/ Reset before Flashing a ROM
6. I went to 'Upgrade from sd card,' in attempt to flash a ROM, but it said I needed to have 'Safe system' enabled or something
7. I Enabled Safe System
8. After that I went back to 'upgrade from sd,' but I couldn't find the file to flash (I think I accidentally saved it to internal and lost it in the wipe like a fool).
9. After realizing I didn't have a ROM to flash, I simply went back and Disabled Safe system (to leave it as I found it)
10. Then, the phone instantly rebooted after I re-Disabled safe system ( is that supposed to happen?) and now it won't go past the boot screen.
I don't think its bootlooping, because the boot screen never flashes or twitches or anything; just stays static at the motorola dual core screen, but I can still access the boot selection menu, and motorola recovery just fine.
I'm guessing I just wiped everything, and now there is nothing to boot into, right? Can I reinstall safestrap while the phone is in its current state (at booting screen)? Can/Should I just save another ROM to my sd, and flash it? Will I have to fastboot to stock and start all over? Or am I just completely flocked?
Apologies if this is very stupid and/or easy to fix—I just don't want to go any further without a bit of assurance. Any help would be very much appreciated.
