I download ROM manager and flashed clockwork recovery, but it wouldnt let me boot into it. I tried from ROM manager and by rebooting and holding x. MY permission were all set correct, i dunno what happened. I have read else were that other people were having the same problem. I went ahead and flashed SPrecovery back and it worked. Anyone else had this problem?

The most surefire way to flash recovery is using either the Android Device Bridge (ADB) or directly from your phone using the terminal emulator:
flash_image recovery /sdcard/yourrecoveryfile.img

(replace yourrecoveryfile.img with the name of your SP or Clockwork image file)

There will come a time when ROM Manager or DM Updater will leave you out in the cold so get comfortable with this method. I set up script files so it only involves 1 click and I am done.

You are right shrink, this was the first time i used ROM manager. I actually like flashing it with the terminal because i know for sure that it will get flashed.

If you are comfortable with terminal emulators check out gscript lite (free in the market). It allows you to easily set up scripts that you can access from the program's menu or even create a homescreen shortcut. I am using it for all my redundant operations.
