Upgrading from Triumph

I'm upgrading my triumph here soon and I was looking for suggestions, while obviously the new flagship phone (EVO V 4G) is the most obvious choice I have never had an issue with raw power on my triumph so I may not need that 1.2ghz dual core processor especially if it comes at a knock to battery life as my triumphs battery is already abysmal and I refuse to have a phone that has a worse battery life.

Based on their current lineup I would want either the HTC One V, the Samsung Galaxy Reverb or the HTC EVO V 4g. As people who probably have owned one or more of these phones I was wondering if you could give me some pros and cons of each one (of if I'm missing another obvious choice feel free to throw that in there)

One of the most important things to me is battery life besides that I don't want anything weaker spec wise than my triumph. Other than those 2 things I don't really care, money isn't a deal breaker on anything I'm looking at but cheaper is always better. Any suggestions would be a great help thank you for any responses in advance. Also, if this is in the wrong forum I'm sorry I don't post here much, obviously.

I have the HTC One V. I didn't run stock too long as I found to lag a little and had poor battery life, about 8-9 hours even without using it, which was probably due to the HTC Sense bloat. I rooted it following the guide on XDA. It took about 45 minutes including installing all the drivers and downloading the root files needed. It was a little more complicated than rooting my old Optimus V, but well worth the extra effort. I have since installed the latest AOKP Jellybean rom and overclock kernel and am extremely pleased with my phone now. The rom is smooth as butter, really flies. My battery life has improved to 17-18 hours with moderate to heavy use.

As for the hardware itself, the radios are good. About the same reception as my OV, the external speaker is loud and clear enough to use speakerphone outside, and sound quality is quite good. The camera (5 megapixel rear camera with flash, no front camera) takes very good pictures. I love the aluminum unibody design and overall shape of the phone. The battery is non-removable, so you can't replace it. However a long press on the power button (about 10 seconds) will simulate a battery pull and reset. Screen quality and resolution is great, everything is crisp and clear.

I haven't used the other two so I can't give you any info on them. Hope this helps.

Sense has never laged for me and I love it the camera seems to work better with the sense camera app

I think I'd wait a month to upgrade. First, there is the rumor of new phones being released by VM next month -- if something like the Galaxy S2 comes to VM, that is likely your best choice.

Second, even if no phones are released, VM in the past has done some nice discounting on Cyber Monday (Monday after Thanksgiving). While I doubt they discount as much as they did last year, if they do you will be able to get a phone for half price sometime between Thanksgiving and that next Monday.

I would hold off,...I've had my Evo v since release and WiMAX isn't 'all that', I hope VM steps up to the LTE plate,...I'd like to see the s3 release by Christmas, if they f'kin listen to critics/consumers on what they want...

If you want speed, I really think the only prepaid choices are T-Mobile or Straight Talk (using AT&T or T-Mobile), even though they only offer HSPA+ and not LTE. It helps that you can take any compatible phone to either of those carriers, including the GS3.

I have a hard time seeing Sprint allowing VM to have LTE. Beyond being available in only 24 cities (it is expected to be in over 100 by next summer) there is the idea of cost. The LTE rollout is very expensive and I can't see Sprint wanting to have a low cost LTE alternative. If VM does get LTE, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a surcharge, maybe $20 a month, for having a phone with LTE capability.
