What started your Sprint/Android addiction

It's funny how the thread has morphed into a totally new topic. Once I get back on the pc, ill move these posts into its own thread.

TS

Guilty as charged, sorry 'bout dat.

Still a good topic though. I kept wanting to answer but my addiction started long before Android and I couldn't give a one phone answer. Now I'll participate after he moves things.

Considering how any new phone rumors have covered all phones so far there isn't another rumor to talk about. Don't see where any harm has been done.

Newcomers find us on Google and won't know if this is the right place to join and ask what we think if the topic has moved on. ;)

My bad too, thanks ts! :)

Doh... Sorry guys, I shoulda been a good influence.

My 1st ANDROID was the crack baby of all ANDROIDS, the HUAWEI ASCEND, but, the phone that actually led me to that point was the MOTOROLA QA-30 HINT on CRICKET.

I was looking for desktop-style web browsing in a phone & considering where phones were @ that time, it wasn't the worst choice available, but, to say that I was disappointed w/the web browsing experience would be an understatement. Throw in the $249.99 that I paid for the phone & color me uninformed & naive. Or, perhaps more suiting :A fool & his money.............. :D

My 20 percent discount at work. Made all the difference for me, I was paying 50 bucks a month for service through Metro PCS with a Galaxy Indulge. The phone was fine, but the lack of dev support was killing me. One day right before Xmas I saw a coupon in the break room of my job and decided to check out pricing. Turns out I'd only be paying 15 bucks more a month, plus the 3G in my area was upgraded ( I get 2mb down usually). That was enough for me. The Evo 3d was on sale for 99 bucks and I grabbed it. On top of that, a few months later I saw a Galaxy Nexus on Ebay for 200 used and took a gamble. It was worth it, as it was in flawless condition. Plus I was able to sell the Evo 3d for 150 and am currently as happy as can be. Won't be upgrading any time soon, though, not till specs take a giant leap on the Nexus line. I will never buy a non-nexus phone again.

Ok....my two cents...

My first smartphone was the Samsung Instinct. I loved that phone. About a year after getting it, though, it got wet from a canoe trip and I had to get a replacment. Then I got my second on stolen on the subway.
When I went to get another replacment, I was told it was longer available.

The Sprint store sales rep suggested the HTC Hero and I was hooked. My first android phone. I really loved it.

I then upgraded to my current OG EVO. Mostly because of it had has more memory space and a larger screen. So far, I am still rocking with my OG EVO.

I am, however, planning on upgrading to the new LTEVO, and then replacing the Blackberry I use for work with my current OG EVO.

TS, great thread title!... Okay, so the transition to Android two years ago was extremely seemless due to similarities to windows mobile. But, I couldn't believe how smooth Android was. Unlike many early adopters, I didn't want to jump over to Android even though Many of the windows mobile guys were jumping over to android. Part of me wishes I had, but I didn't want to jump on getting the samsung moment, just because ocf the Instinct experience my family member had. But we all see now how great an impact android has had on Samsung.

I was somewhat of an addict to Windows Mobile before, but Android has taken me to a ridiculous level. Particularly due to all the peeps on this forum. Thanks, Androidforums!

My first ever smart phone was the Samsung instinct. My contract with Sprint ended, i decided to try T-Mobile in my area. I then bought the Samsung behold 2. After having a few issues i decided to buy the nexus one. Loved it. Tried to return my behold 2 to get a working one when they replaced it with the Samsung vibrant (galaxy s). A few months later, lg launches the T-Mobile g2x (optimus 2x), i pick that up. They release an update the gives the new version of android but took away a few features that i loved. Ended up going back to Sprint. Got the evo 3d (it sucked imo), replaced it with the epic 4g touch. Loved it, kept that until the galaxy s3 launched. Now i have that for Sprint and metro. Metro is my personal phone, Sprint is for business. Now I'm waiting for the note 2. That will be the next phone to add to my list.

I was a Treo fanatic. Then the series was cancelled. I went with a black berry because I was on AT&T, but most of my friends went with the (I think) Hero on Sprint.

Then the EVO announcement and associated commercials came out and several friends had it and raved about how great it was compared to blackberry.

Since I hated my blackberry I switched to Sprint and got the original EVO 4G and haven't looked back.

My first Sprint phone was some Sanyo candybar thing back in 1999. I never seriously considered a smartphone until the iPhone debuted. Even then, the so-called "iPhone killers" on Sprint looked like anything but, so I stuck with dumbphones. When the Hero came out I considered it, but it wasn't until the EVO that I was sold on Android. Got one the first day (early morning activation at Radio Shack, woo) and haven't looked back since. :)

My first smartphone was the Samsung Instinct...

I loved that phone. My first got drowned in a river, replaced it with another, that got stolen on the Metro.

I went to get another replacement, and was told the Instinct was no longer available. So the Sprint salesman told me about the HTC Hero. Bought it and fell in love with Android. The only annoyance was the limited memory.

I then decided to take an early upgrade to the HTC EVO. I have had it for over a year and it is the best smartphone I have owned so far.

I am planning on upgrading to the LTEVO, and then using my current EVO as my work phone to replace the Blackberry I use for work.

I think you are the first and only person I've seen that actually liked the Instinct. That thing was so buggy.
