Can't sync Facebook contacts with existing contacts on Galaxy S3

When i login to the Facebook app and select the option to sync information with existing contacts it adds my facebook contacts into my contacts but doesn't work with my existing contacts whose numbers are saved on the sim.

For some of them i cant write out their full name like it is on facebook because contacts is stupid and doesnt give you enough letters but with others the name is the same and i want it to sync their profile picture to their existing contact. It seems to be with anyone that doesn't have their phone number written on their facebook.

With others it adds a separate contact with their facebook details alongside the existing contact with their number that is saved on the sim. when i try and link the two together it only shows other facebook contacts so they cant be linked

As of Android 4.0 ICS, Facebook Sync is no longer supported. Therefore you cannot sync contacts into your list with facebook, the best way is to use some of the work around apps like Hax sync

Hi Team

I m being really struggling and getting frustrated with Facebook app on Samsung Galaxy S3 android phone.... Issue with Facebook is i can't add my friends on status or check-in....

ON Status if i choose a Add friend below shown error i receive
"No Friends Found" and "Cannot retrieve the friends list. please try again later [1/An unknown error occurred]"

In Check-in i get same error
"No Friends Found" and "Cannot retrieve the friends list. please try again later [1/An unknown error occurred]"

If i click on Friends
"No Friends Found" and "Cannot retrieve the friends list. please try again later [1/An unknown error occurred]"

If i click on Birthday below shown error i receive
"Sorry, Something went wrong, Try Again"

If I choose sync with existing friends, it still adds every person from my facebook into my contacts, which is quite annoying (1800+ friends). I really liked the picture syncing with my iPhone.

Use "SyncMyPix" from the play store. It's free and does exactly what you're looking for.

Thanks, i tried the SyncmyPix app thinking it would work but i still have the same problem. It doesnt link up contacts who's numbers are saved on the sim :S

I just opened Facebook App > Menu > Settings > Sync Contacts > Sync with existing contacts... exit
