Root I spy with my little eye... a new camera app?

For those of you who haven't already seen this elsewhere... The Milestone apparently is toting a very nice little camera app. Many people are discussing the possibility of porting it, so I don't know about you, but my eyes are glued to the forums.

I still want to know why the Milestone gets blatantly better core apps than the Droid... but then, they're probably wondering why we get root.

Oh that looks like the camera app on the XT800. the APKs for that have been posted over at AllDroid.

I tried installing them the other day. The camcorder works great, but the camera FC every time I try to open it. This seems to be the case as well for everyone else who has tried it too. Not sure what the problem is. If someone ports the camera app over from the Milestone, hopefully it'll work and we won't have this problem.

I still want to know why the Droid got such a crappy camera in general...5MP, big deal...the 2MP camera in my son's 2MP makes the Droid camera look like a joke. Biggest disappointment for me about this phone. Sorry...didn't mean to rant...the milestone app does look pretty nice in terms of features.

From what I read thats the same app as the XT800. Someone posted a bunch of apks from the XT800 on alldroid. I tried the camera app but it just FCs just like everyone else who tried it. The camcorder works though. Im kinda surprised no one has gotten it working yet.

I agree though and find it very strange that the camcorder works without a hitch but camera doesn't.

I would have thought that someone would have solved the problems with the Milestone Equalizer (it kills bluetooth). It has been a while and nothing.

I'm four posts ahead of YOU.

It has been all over alldroid and cyanogen recently. Not a lot of people seem to check other forums, though... so I dig what I can up and post it here for the rest of the community. I'm definitely not the first one to come across this video... and it surely isn't news to others who scour various sites like me.

Hmm...first I'm hearing of Equalizer. I'm rather curious, now.

As for the camera app, it seems to have a slicker UI and appears snappier.
