first attempt: alright so i flashed the rom and it didnt go through all they way. yes i flashed it right, i followed the instructions and everything. upon trying to use my phone there are apps within the rom was force closing thus making the phone unusable. it seems that it flashes the rom but all the app within it are on it and i have the notification bar

2nd attemp: its seems that all the apps still force close but this time holo launcher is completely f*****. its always force closing, again making the phone unusable.

correction its not all the apps within the rom fc'ing. holo launcher, swype, music , android.process.acore

lol its i just kind of assume that since OC rom automatically did that for you that so did this one. no hard feelings mate. i flashed and the it went through now no fc'ing now. its all good under the hood so far. ill report back anything i find. the one thing i know for sure though is that flashing the ics theme by kage does not work for this version xDD but thats outside of this rom

edit: scratch that theme does work, i had forgotten to mount system and data :D

hey, love the rom, finally it works for us Lazy Admire owners :D but i've noticed that i've had a problem connecting to my wifi network, it just stays at obtaining IP address? any fix for that?

my wifi also works fine. something ive noticed is that when flashing roms you might get some sort of issue with the wifi but for me is just have to either toggle it off and on again or get close to my router and its good forever.

Spz0: this version is running good, only had one random force closings. one while using the browser but i believe thats a problem with the actual browser app itself cause i had the same problem with the OC version. I saw that you already went and fixed the camera button issue. ill flash the updated rom after i download it. so far everything is buttery. i dont forsee any major issues in the future. Id also like to thank you for the contribution you made to the samsung admire :congrats:

my recovery menu only has "apply sdcard:update.zip" ... do I need to rename each. zip to do this? ... is it OK, and will I be able to... boot normally, after applying cwm, to rename the OA .zip?

I also have no "backup/restore" or "mounts/storage" option.

my phone is a brand new cricket sch-r720 ... hardware version. 06 ... baseband eh29

I'm presuming I can do the "flashing" via "apply sd .zip"? ... not Odin? ... I downloaded right onto my phone... sdcard/download/ ... do I need to move them?

I also have no desire to be on the cricket network... wi-fi only... if I don't do "mms fix", I'm GTG? ... or will it still try too acquire their network?

thanks!

ok so i download that MMS fix file right? am I supposed to run it or something? I'm kinda new at this. Anyways am I supposed to flash the rom first then go back into the recovery an flash that zip too?
I'm in no better shape than you ... but, FWIW, the way I read his instructions, maybe there's an app called "ApnBackupAndRestore" on your phone, after you're finished installing the new ROM?! ... and if ya run it, there's probly a button 'er menu that says "Restore APN" ... and if ya choose that, it'll prompt for a file on your phone?! ... pick the .xml file ... "profit"?!

Outta curiosity, what did ya find to root your phone ... and any good instructions (pic-heavy) for using Odin to flash the CWM?! ... at least, based on what I've read elsewhere, that's what I need to do, before I can "flash" the ROM?!

I've Odin'd ICS to my tablet ... but that was a very simple deal ... just plug it in, hit the "PDA" button and choose the one file ... click "Go" ... reboot ... done! ... no rooting ... no CWM ... very simple!

Not sure why this new ROM is any different?! ... but, it must be?!

I did root my tablet once ... that was fairly simple, to start ... downloaded a .zip right to the phone ... recovery mode let me browse right to it ... and it was somewhat rooted ... but then when I tried to do the rest, it wanted a couple other apps and permissions and what-not! PITA!

Anyhow, if ya found any good links, please lemme know!

Well everything works fine for me but I found a new error with the wifi. when you first turn on the wifi it works 100% but I noticed if you turn off the wifi an try an turn it back on you get an error. it won't even give you the option to change the wifi settings because there is a error. But anyways I guess I can give that a try idk. But I used odine an im using CWM 7 I didnt have a problem with the google play like the others surprisingly which im happy about an everything else works 100% besides the MMS an wifi
