Swype BETA won't work with 2.1 v2

So, as some of you may know, I recently complained about keyboard lag on the latest leaked version of 2.1. I remember loving the Swype beta on 1.5 and decided to go ahead and re-download the installer. Everything installed nicely and i switched my input method to Swype. To my dismay, after swyping my first word, Swype displayed a pop up saying that "this swype package you installed is not configured for this device" and then refused to register any of my swyped words. This Eris keyboard business is now REALLY starting to piss me off.

Before I break something, does anyone know how to get Swype Beta to work on this new leak? I, and my many fragile possesions, would be eternally grateful.

I know alot of people have had this same problem, even on 1.5. I am using the 2nd leaked version of swype for HVGA and it works great. The only problem I have is getting it to recognize some patterns/words.

It did that to me once. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it worked. Hasnt done it to me since.

I had this happen to me a few times after flashing between ROM's. Ever since switching to the lite version, I dont get these errors anymore. I recommend switching as well.

+1, Lite works nicely for me...

It does seem slightly "laggy" the way it processes, but in the end it still feels MUCH faster than typing things out normally. I can't see going back.

Is Swype only available through the .apk, not through the market? I'm guessing yes, but I just wanted to give myself a sanity check.

I have Swype BETA but I'm not sure how to get the APK to you from it.

mount your sd card to the computer and is should be in a folder called apparchive"

If you're on the west coast yours might not have expired yet. It'll expire at midnight if it's from that thread.

Yeah, +1. Mine was fine until I restarted my phone today, and bam, "your trial has expired". Why don't they just put it in the Market, charge $5 for a full version, and I'll be happy to pay twice that for it. I won't use anything else if I have a choice and I'll gladly pay for it.
