Help GPS terrible since ICS

Ever since I upgraded to ICS the GPS function has been abysmal. Is there a known issue? I think I read that going back to the gingerbread drivers is a good idea. How do I do this? Or is there another suggestion? The Samsung note is my first Android device.

Thanks for your help.

And if you have problems even though you never updated google maps?

So you know for certain that nothing at all changed in ICS that relates to the Maps software just because the app was not updated?

No you don't and i've been down this road and fixed my GPS after every update that screwed it up. So excuse me for trying to giving advice that might actually get your GPS functionality working again. We all know it STARTED with the ICS update but it also happened twice to me AFTER Maps updates. As long as Maps does not get updated everything works and once it gets updated again the issue seems to crop up and GPS needs to be reset again for whatever reason.

OK, my saga is over. ATT Support confirmed it was a HW issue after re flashing and now I have a replacement (with my old back door). Locked immediatley upon first use. I'm sorry there was another thread which I missed further down and someone else confirmed this as well. So a few units may have gone out with faulty gps HW. I'm very happy now. I was getting tired of my gps not finding me until I arrived at my destination lol.

For me, I got my phone replaced by AT&T and now my GPS is perfect on ICS

How long did you have your phone and did GPS reset fix it or did you even try that?

Just curious because if my phone is a dud it would be nice to get it swapped. But right now everything is working so AT&T probably wont do anything. I have yet to update to the latest Maps again at this point just because everything works. And the strange thing is the GPS diagnosis apps always shows my device locating satellites perfectly even when the gMaps/gNav application refuses to lock.

I had the note from day 1 of release and yes I tried all of the GPS fixes (config files & modem combos) there was. If it was software related, the reflash at AT&T would have fixed it.

I guess, for me, this is all really moot as I am now selling my Note + everything I got for it for $350+ on eBay to get the Note 2 :D
