Verizon Note 2 Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

Let's all say a unified prayer for an early release. I wish there was a site that tracked announcement dates, pre-order dates and then actual ship dates historically. It would be super useful.

You'd think that Big Red would want to release ASAP to kick in AS many holiday sales. I don't know about you but f Black Friday...I don't go out or shop for it and I think a ton of people are learning that Cyber Monday and Black Friday are really shams. THE REAL DEALS ARE DECEMBER 26th :p

Everyone should take into account that the reason for the delay is that Samsung has to run Verizon's phones separately on their production line due to the branding on the home button, and the locked bootloader.

I don't know if that's necessarily true. That would likely have been done during initial production on solely the button pieces.

This is just a classic VZW move for holiday sales, much like the Galaxy Nexus.

I stopped at the T-Mobile kiosk in the mall to check it out today..pretty impressive device. Did anybody else who's held it think it was going to be bigger? For anyone that says they can't get it into a pocket, your pants are too small. Can't wait til a year from now when the 6" note 3 comes out haha. Too bad I'm really pumped for this phone now but can't have it for another month.

Haha! I pretty much did the same thing.

I went to the T-Mobile store just to see it in person & when I walked in, I walked right by it! I was expecting it to be much bigger & stand out so much more than anything else.

They had a dummy that I was able to 'try out' in my pocket. The dummy was noticeably heavier than the real one & it still wasn't overly large, in size or weight, in my pocket (I'm 5'11" & was wearing fairly tight jeans).

I also went to T-Mobile to go play and test the GN2 out yesterday. This thing is sweet, crisp, smooth and not as incredibly big as made out to be. It's really a crying shame and injustice that Verizon is making us wait a month to get this. All probably in order to first exhaust a months worth of Droid Razr/ Razr Maxx HD sales which is a big moneymaker for them.

I actually went into my local Verizon store to pre-order mine yesterday. The manager said he had "not seen one yet, but it usually takes 2 or 3 days to come in once they order it" In other words, he had no clue about the phone, what it was, or when it was coming. In the mean time, they were activating about 3 or 4 iphone 5's for other customers as I was standing there getting my preorder put through...

Believe it or not....Illusion. Size of the store is bigger than the Note 2. If you were in a smaller room the size of the Note would stand out and you would've walked towards it rather than past it. :D

Possibly, but it was actually a very small store. Nothing like the Verizon stores I'm used to.

I was scanning (not reading labels) all of the phones as I walked in & it turned out to be the very FIRST one I looked at. But because it wasn't as big as I was expecting, I assumed it wasn't it & kept on moving.

I did laugh at myself when I realized what I did. :D

Small store. High ceilings. My store didn't have any on display. That didn't matter to me since I walked in with the intention of buying.

So after realizing that, are you going to get it?

As long as it gets the multi-window feature (I was/am really looking forward to that), I probably will. I really like everything about it, including it's size.

Since otterbox hasnt graced us with a defender case yet I've been pocket carrying it with the oem flip case. Quite comfortably slips in the weak side front pocket and Bluetooth works flawlessly while its in there.

Think maybe the delay is to include multi-view out of the box? Nah, probably wishful thinking:(

If you log onto Verizon Wireless website and click on the link at the top about the Note 2, it will take you to a feature page which not only talks about multi-view but also shows a picture of it. I would be very surprised if the Verizon version doesn't have it right out of the box.

I agree with the wishful thinking.

We may never know the true reason, but I believe it just goes back to 2 things - their ego (kind of like being fashionably late to the party) & needing to sell as many of their exclusive devices as possible so that they keep getting them.

I hope they do!

They've made incorrect descriptions like this in the past & never followed through with correcting the device, only the description.

We'll find out one way or another, I would just like it sooner than later.

Everyone has been looking at Verizons delay like it's just Verizon showing how superior they are.
No one has thought this~~the delay could be so they can sell a lot of the Note 2.
The more delay there is in something, the more people want it. Samsung has marketed the hell out of this phone and Verizon knows this one is going to pull in a lot of money.
