mine was waiting for me at 6 this morning (ET). Don't get too excited, it caused some issues, including making my Google browser a German language browser!! And my Droid is only 5 days old.

Well, you could get yours tomorrow or in a week or so. From what I understand it is going to take a couple weeks to get it out to every Verizon Droid user. It started on Thursday, I believe, so you could still have a little bit of time to wait, unless you decide to force it.

I forced mine, and I am quite happy with it. I've not had any issues yet, I tried out the native browser again, but I went back to dolphin. Don't get me wrong it is improved over the last native browser version, but I just prefer dolphins interface. It also seems to run quicker, have better battery life and oddly, I now get 3G inside my work, I used to only get 1G. I'm assuming the new baseband software could have done this, if not it may just be some strange coincidence.

The only thing I was somewhat disappointed about was still just 3 home screens. Well, there is an easy fix to this, and you don't need to root either, it's called HelixLauncher. Check it out, I love it. It allows up to 7 home screens, and also adds a very nice feature of having 4 quick shortcuts on the bottom which are static (they always stay the same, on any screen.) So you can have your Phone, Contacts, Messanger, and Market all right there available on every screen. No longer need to go back to you "Main" home screen!

It's rolling out, you'll get it sooner or later. It takes time for OTA's to hit every single activated DROID.

You can always force the update, if you'd like.

I haven't got the update either.. but I don't care. I bought the phone for what it was an any extra updates are just +++++'s

I do look forward to the new shat but I have no issue waiting.

I havent received my update neither...but i have done some research...on mar. 30th 1,000 ppl recieved it at noon...by midnight that day another 9,000 received it. Then there was a 24hr period where no one got it then beginnin at midnight on the 1st of April, 200,000 ppl recived the update and everyday after that 200,000 users will recieve it until all droids have been updated.........Ive had my droid since it came out and havent received but my buddy ho just got Droid last week alreay got update so apparently theyre not going in any particular order......hich isnt really fair to ppl thats had phone from the start.

Yea I totally agree it wasn't fair when I first had my g1. Waiting for the update and it took me awhile before I got it. But I've had my Droid for 2 weeks so that would be once if I got it tonite

I think that's just to check the status on ur software. Go to the home page and there's a thread that's gives u step by step to force the update

You know, it would be great if there was a checkbox that we could check to opt-in to the early release of the updates. I think that would be good for Verizon too, because if they send out a bad update it would only hit the customers who understand that's the risk they face for wanting the latest and greatest ASAP.

I got my update early this morning. My friend and I bought the phones at the same time and activated them together. We live in the same town only 2 miles apart and he is still waiting. Have had no problems with it.

Just finished downloading mine. Not sure what time it came exactly because I didnt receive any notification sound when it arrived. I just happened to check the phone for something else and there it was. Live walls look really good! Weird thing is the tapping noise I was used to hearing when typing on the virtual keyboard is now gone.
