Best case for note 2?

Got my case and although it looks lovely, I don't like it. I think it's better served for going out and wanting extra protection. It's awkward as all get out to use the phone while in this case. The right side (where the phone sits) extends out past the phone making it ridiculously difficult to reach the power button.

On the left hand side where the volume rocker is, the case extends out a bit just past the rocker so instead of being able to just place your finger there to adjust volume, you have to place your finger under that extended lip which result in turning the phone to the side so you can see what you're doing.....no fun.

Now, with the phone being made slimmer so it's easier to hold, this case makes holding the phone; again awkward. Wide case slim phone......no no no no NO!

I've tried to make it work but just couldn't do it another day. Reverted back to the Samsung flip case. This case will just go into a drawer until I tell myself I just have to use it for something.

Right, I didn't like mine either.

Another thing I forgot to mention, but if you look at the 2nd pic closely you'll see the case is bent just a little. THAT'S from trying to dig out the s-pen. The pen is barely reachable in this case.

And the 3rd pic; the "clasp" goes behind the case instead of in front. I thinking it's why these cases were so cheap cause that's backwards. I'm so used to stuff like this being in the front that every time I open the case the phone is upside down.

I have had an iPhone since iPhone 3 came out. They are easily breakable therefore I have used otter cases to protect them, especially the screen. I am switching to the note 2 and have read that the gorilla class that is on the note is almost unbreakable and super scratch resistant. If that is true...why are several people concerned about a screen protector for this phone?

Extra protection. Gorilla glass is not indestructible.

ATT told me they ship on Nov 9 (or do they arrive on Nov 9?)

AT&T ships on the 6th with free 2 day shipping so they should arrive on the 8th/9th (supposedly).

Seidio line of Active/Surface cases are set to be released within the next couple of weeks. They also have desktop chargers/cradles as well as holster for them. I'm not a huge fan of the kickstand case but the Seidio cases will have a magnetic one on them.

I agree that gorilla glass is not indestructible, but the test I have seen, it should be able to take a drop and normal wear and tear without scratches.

A corner drop...i get that. I have seen many phones that break on a corner drop, but seems to me, we are paying extra for gorilla glass to avoid having major breaks or scratches.

Minor..... Major would mean GG is indestructible.
All phones can take a drop but at the right angle, temp, other variables the screen can break. I think people are demanding more of GG than it is capable of.

I bought a "Flip PU Leather Cove #FG from wuyouguo2110 on ebay for $5 shipped. This thing is actually great quality for what I paid. It did come from china but I had it within the week I ordered it even though they quoted a 2-3 week delivery window.

I am probably going to order a couple more in different colors. I bought this one because it protects all four corners entirely and raises the screen up if you flip the phone onto it's face so you don't get any sand scratches.

Here are the pics...

Thanks HighCaliber. I bought an Otter case for my current Dell Streak 5 and I found it too bulky and ended up using my Streak without any protection.

I placed an order today. BTW, what material is the inside lining made of? Is is soft and does not scratch?

Pulled the trigger and got the Seidio Active case & holster combo black. comes with kickstand and belt clip. No screen cover but the case looks good and protective. 2.0 mm thick. Will get it in two days. Now to find a great car dock that it will fit into.

I purchased a Zenus Lettering case and a generic TPU case plus screen savers.

Guess what? I still don't have my Note2 yet from ATT.

When you get your phone would you mind posting an update on how you like the case with your phone? (functionality & protection)
I'm pre-shopping for cases as it will still be a few more weeks before I get my Note 2.

Both of those look exactly like the uncomfortable piece of junk case I bought. Any case that extends past the size of the phone is awkward to hold.

Also MANY of these cases come from the same manufacturer then whoever is selling it gives it it's own name making us think there are a lot of case options when in fact that's not the case. No pun intended.

So you think ANY of these flip cases are going to have the same awkward feel, regardless of the manufacturer?

I'm kinda eye-balling this one now...

Yes I do. See, none of these sellers divulge where the cases come from. I've been doing a LOT of comparing and don't see where one is that much different than the other.

EVERY single case I've looked at all have that overlap on the right side of the phone. Every time someone post a case thinking they've discovered kryptonite, it's just the same case by a different seller.

Like you, I'm going with the bumper until one of the bigger reputable companies makes a case in the correct dimensions of the Note 2 in colors I like....black isn't an option.

Interesting observation. I've always wondered if they just re-branded products make consumers think they had lots of choice.

Look at all the cases on eBay and Amazon that are supposed to be for the Note 2 in the $9-15 range and you'll see they're the same. So even if I returned mine and got it from someone else I'd be getting back the same case I returned.

Currently our choices are extremely limited. I'm not interested in the bulk Otterbox adds. I'm this >< close to checking out a Seidio case since theirs have been getting rave reviews from forum members based on history.

When it comes to our currently choices, that saying you get what you pay for is so true.

As far as my observation.....it's funny you mentioned that. You'd be amazed at how many people come to me because of how my mind works. No, I'm not psychic but I often notice what others don't.
