Best launcher for Note 2....

I'm still using stock. On my last phone I used the Go Launcher. I've downloaded the Go Launcher on my Galaxy Note II, but I haven't gotten around to using it yet. I might compare it with other launchers before settling down on it too.

The only thing the Stock launcher has over any other launcher in my opinion is the screens that you can have show up when you remove the S Pen or plug in headphones.

I'm still using stock. Haven't taken the time to sit down for a minute to do any customizing yet.

I think some people habitually customize without experiencing the stock experience. Yes, older Android versions were lacking and customizing really fleshed it out. These days though... quite often the stock experience is more than good enough.

I think it's a good idea to just use stock for a while and then look into trying some customizing if really called for. You'll be more prepared to recognize when you are screwing up your experience.

Likely will be using Nova. Go Launcher Ex has been my launcher for a little while, just because of LPP's lack of support for future OS beyond Gingerbread. Thing is, GLEx seems to be a little 'bit more of a battery hog than LPP was, which is why I'm looking forward to using Nova. I don't mind GLEx on my MoPho right now, but I'm ready to move on to a different launcher that's best suited for ICS and above.

I also had the same thought.....GLEx being a battery hog.

Yeah, which sucks on the Photon because I used to have such great battery life. Now, it's similar to how my Evo was (which was okay, but I was very cautious on what I'd do throughout a day, just to conserve battery life).

The widgets are part of the launcher, so you won't be able to use the TW widgets with a third party launcher (you'll see the same widgets you see on your current phone).

I tried Apex on my EG4T but didn't like it for some reason (I think it didn't do direct dial shortcuts like stock Android). I didn't even bother with it on the GN2.

The reason I ditched TW was the limited amount of icons on the screen and the poorly implemented folder creation. I have no idea why they went for GB style folders. A real step backwards.

I've used Go Launcher, Launcher Home Pro and Nova. Supposedly Nova is the best option for JB, ICS and before the others reigned supreme

I've used them all including SPB Shell 3D. I thought that one was pretty pricey ($14.99) but purchased it anyway. Great eye candy but it crashed too often to be of any good.
Once I get tired of the stock launcher I'll go back to Nova (Prime).

Anyone tried Holo HD launcher? I wonder how it compares to Nova or Apex.

Holo was initially developed by someone at XDA for non-ICS phones to get somewhat of the ICS experience. I thought it was a nice launcher, very responsive, but lacked some of the customizations I was hoping for. On top of that, it didn't really give me the ICS experience I was expecting, so I didn't try it out for very long. One thing I definitely missed (compared to Go Launcher Ex) was being able to group all your apps in your app drawer into folders. I love being able to group all the apps in folders, in the app drawer, so it doesn't take up screen real-estate (more room for widgets of my most used apps) and I don't have to scroll through multiple apps, just to find that one app that I have that I use only every now and then. That function alone is one of the main reasons I'll be switching to NOVA.

Just happen to stumble across this thread. I actually have the SGS III w/stock JB, not the NOTE2.

Just like DREX said, this is a launcher based on stock ICS/JB & was meant for those stuck on GINGERBREAD so they could have an ICS feel to their phones.

That was the case w/the original HOLO LAUNCHER, but, HOLO LAUNCHER HD is for ICS & up phones.

I can't state how pleased I am w/this launcher. Been using it for about four months now & have compared to NOVA, APEX, etc.... but, always come back to HOLO HD. My reason simply is performance, smooth operation, no lag, clean look.

The developer has continuously tweaked this app & adds new features on a regular basis, check out the change log.

IMHO, you can't go wrong w/HOLO LAUNCHER HD. If there's a feature you'd like to see on future updates, just drop the developer an e-mail. Odds are he's either working on it or already has it planned for an upcoming release.
