Given that us Galaxy users are RAM strapped just wondering what your personal experiences with custom themes are ....

In particular : GDE
OpenHome
aHome

Interms of LAG being a major issue, and customizability. Watched several youtube vids of demo's but would like to have some first hand, not a G1, or a droids take on it.

I used aHome Lite with the 1.5 firmwares and really liked it; it's not as fussy as the others, gave me extra home screens and customisations, and nothing else, which is exactly what I was looking for. Didn't notice any slowdown at all, apart from it taking a couple of seconds longer to load the Home screens.

On 1.6, aHome Lite isn't available. I've yet to find a suitable replacement so I'm running with stock. Someone here recommended Advanced Launcher, but all I can seem to get that to do is give me an extra column (five rather than four) in the app drawer.

If anyone knows of a free way of getting an extra home screen or two, like Spock I'm all ears.

used to use custom themes for galaxo and galaxorecovery rather than use a home replacement.

for 1.6.2 galaxo though there is no such thing as no one has tweeked them to work yet so im using this wicked app which is beta and free called home++ but its only for 1.6 and above.
Introducing Home++ (Home++ by Intuitit)
be aware that if you use this, the default behaviour of the app draw is to slow load to save on ram. you can change this in the settings
