No kidding. I was *this* close to ditching AT&T. It took me 3 chat sessions and three phone calls over 2 days just to pre-order (the price was showing $100 more in my cart). And my 3G service is AWFUL in my area. I work about 2 miles from one of the biggest universities in the country in a reasonably dense area of town. I'm hoping the jump to LTE changes things for me.

I just attempted to call our local AT&T store here in town, and no one has answered with the 4 calls I've placed. I wanted to see if they would be getting some notes in but apparently they're too busy playing with their iphones or something. I know the store isn't busy, there is never anyone there, lol.

The only positive spin I can apply to this situation is :

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is not the "red headed step child"
- or
"too big for being the daily phone" which many pundits expected.

Instead its a run away success, with the volume of initial pre-sales orders overwhelming the AT&T supply chain available.

Which in the end is good thing, as massive numbers of Samsung Galaxy Note 2 phones WILL attract a new round of Android developers to create software to maximize the unique feature set of this unique device.

Once these phones are readily seen in public during christmas shopping at the malls by baby boomers with aging eyesight -
I expect sales to go through the roof.

Was just told by an AT&T CSR that the actual ship date was changed to the 7th and that all the phones should ship out by tonight.

And 10 other reps will give you 10 different answers.

I thought we accomplished the fact that not a single person knows what the hell is going on. I talked to a rep yesterday and she said they were definitely shipping out on the 6th and look what happened.

Not implying in any way/shape/form that this woman was correct/telling the truth :p but, she didn't mention any backorder or anything. She said that my phone was in the warehouse ready to be shipped and that it SHOULD be out by tonight :p

I just checked my order and it says shipping today Via USPS and also doesn't show a tracking number yet. I'm surprised they're using USPS, I've ordered from them previously and it's always been FedEx or UPS. This should be interesting....

And someone just posted (NOT ME):

It is hard to see but that shows it did ship today for that person. I still have hope

I actually ordered late 10/25/2012 - but the AT&T System shows my order as 10/26/2012.

Seems the Premiere Business customers are getting tracking numbers first.
since the posted screen shot from the AT&T Forum thread is from an AT&T Premiere Business customer who ordered on 10/27/2012

I rechecked my status - nothing new - just stuck "In Progress "

Maybe mine is delayed because I also ordered a dumb "on sale" $9 retractable 3.5mm Audio cable. (hint to self - next time skip the accessories)

First time poster. AT&T Business Premier Customer. New to android phones, but I've been getting screwed by AT&T for years.

I was originally upgrading from the Iphone 4 to the Iphone 5 but was totally underwhelmed and fell in love with the Note 2. I ordered it at about 11PM on 10/24 and received my order number from AT&T Premier with a shipping date of 11/6 and arrival date by 11/9.

I just got off the phone with AT&T Premier support and the customer service girl read me the bulletin AT&T has prepared after I said I wanted to know why my phone hadn't shipped as expected and my account preauthorization had fallen off. The customer service bulletin says that phones will be shipping today and will arrive to customers the week of the 12th. They are unable to confirm when the week of the 12th. She also confirmed that they will not be shipping all pre-orders on the same day and are shipping batches. Batches beginning shipping today although she cannot confirm what day my phone will ship even though I was told initially I was in the first batch by a supervisor. She confirmed that the phones are shipping from Texas but couldn't explain why if they are shipping today they will not arrive until some unknown date during the week of the 12th when they are shipping fedex two day. I was hoping that these customer service bulletins apply to new pre-orders not ones made early but it sounds like AT&T is just screwing everyone since I'm not aware of anyone who's been charged yet until the post above and I see they purchased the phone three days after I did. I'm still hoping for the best as I'm leaving the country on Saturday and won't see my phone for a couple months if this is the case.

EDITED: Mine shipped FedEx 2day on 11/7 at 2:45PM with 11/9 delivery scheduled.

Well at least you made a good choice. There's no comparison between iOS and Android. I've used both for years and Android blows iOS away in every possible way. iOS is so incredibly outdated and I'm not sure why people still buy into that crap...

EDIT:

Mine now lists the shipping date as today but I haven't gotten a tracking number yet.

It also says "This is the date it left our fulfillment center" so maybe I just didn't get my tracking information yet?

Does everyone elses say this? Use the My ATT section and click my orders on the main site, don't use that other link to check...

Welcome to AT&T....

So I have always been an iPhone user since the first one and on AT&T. This whole thing made me feel "welcome to the android side of AT&T". Never had an issue with AT&T before. Closest I have had was visa stopping the transaction because it looked suspicious so had to call and clear it. I know plenty of other iPhone users do not share the same story I have but that's mine.

What kinda of shipping did you get?
US Postal Service - Priority Mail

Which actually is not too bad

It should be here Friday Nov 9.

Saturday Nov 10 at the latest.

Never thought Id ever say this - but today I trust USPS more than Fedex
(my how far FEDEX's reputation has been tarnished in the past 7 years)

and same everyone - no charge yet on my Bank Card (expect that to be charged later this evening)
