Verizon Note 2 Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

Anybody else here remember the big ole pre-release Incredible thread? This gives me that same kinda feel.

FWIW...when I went into the Downtown Verizon in Denver on Monday...they had already been through the training on the Note 2. That it would be in store on the 29th. There was some mention in the meeting of the 23rd....perhaps that is when they get the shipment in. The salesperson said they expect to have plenty of each color...that is all.

Plenty of each color, but I wish there was a black version, not titanium gray. However, I think the titanium will be nicer looking and not as "every day" as a black phone and I'm happy about that. The issue is reflections in the car window when using it as a GPS. The blacker, the less reflection.

does anyone know of a way to buy an unlocked galaxy note II (once available) for verizon from some other vendor, like amazon or best buy? I want to buy the phone off contract, but everything I see points me back to verizon. maybe this will be different once the phone is out, but I just wanted to check.

I have no hopes of getting the phone this week. I just need to know that I am not alone. I ordered my phone on the 24th at 11:30pm eastern. I know that many people have said their order status shows the expected ship date is 11/27. Mine still says "Expected Ship Date: Not available at this time." Does anyone else have an unknown expected shipping date?

Mine says the same when I look it up, although the confirmation email said the shipdate was the 24th. I ordered mine at 8:45pm on the 24th.

I haven't checked mine in like a week. I think the confirmation # I have was stored on my iPad or whatever. I never got an email confirmation...was I supposed to? It's still in their system....11/27 still as ship date ::sigh::

Just got off the phone with a Verizon (which means that the following information is worthless):

* First rep said that I should have received my GNII by now, sent me to her manager to find out why I hadn't received it
* Second rep (manager) said that it will be shipping out tomorrow 11/9/2012, processed it to ship but it gave him an error, sent me to his support agent
* 3rd Rep (Support Agent w/Manager on the line) said that Verizon doesn't have a release date for it which is what is preventing them from shipping it. They said that the phone may not ship by 11/27 as promised and that the current delay is due to Samsung not having announced to Verizon when they will be able to support their initial launch volumes. Manager apologized for the inconvenience and said we wished there was something more he could do.

Dammit! I really wanted this phone for Thanksgiving so I could goof around with it while I'm off work!

You had 2 guys tell you that you should have gotten it by the 9th? I haven't heard anyone else say anything like this.

No, the first rep I talked with told me that he didn't understand why I didn't have it YET (didn't specify a date, so he might have thought I should have had it days/weeks ago). The 2nd rep was trying to process it to SHIP on the 9th, not that I would receive it then. He told me I would have received it on the 12th had it gone through.

The sales reps don't really know much, neither do the managers. I know that managerial staff at VZW have Note 2s, (I know of two such individuals) so they definitely have them. I think they're just waiting until launch day to stock up enough shipments from Samsung.

Honestly I think so. I think they don't want to have a shorted launch like they're hitting with the iPhone 5 still. Apple can't keep up with their production STILL especially with the increased quality they've demanded from Foxconn after the minute scratches and imperfections on the metal casings.

Oh well...at least the next few weeks will go quickly for me. GF is flying up to Rochester today, I drive home for a wedding next weekend in Jersey, and then I fly home again the following wed for Thanksgiving! Then it's just 1 more week lol
