Upgrade on O2 in the UK. 18 months contract. I asked in The Carphone Warehouse to just carry over the same terms (45 pounds, 1200 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet). However, they said that this didn't exist anymore. Finally they managed it, but I called O2 direct for confirmation. They said the system was showing that the Upgrade had failed! However, I'm walking along with a shiney new X10.....

Yeah I've noticed the phone dim with the sensor on but given the battery life has been shocking so far I'm terrified to turn it off.

You must have been glutton for punishment going to phones4u. I only set foot in there if I'm playing the game where you have to try and stay in there 10 seconds without having someone come up to you to try and sell you something. It's pretty much impossible

Hi guys, new to the forums!

Well after hearing the negatives of the Xperia X10, I did have my doubts of whether to get the phone. But I decided to still get it becuase it looks amazing, the Timescape/Mediascape, the walkman, the camera etc.

So I have upgraded and awaiting for my phone (still no confirmation email but got the ref number) and opted for the Black version. The white one looks odd to me!

I am Orange UK and since I have been a loyal customer I get 10% line rental off. So the tariff was

I think i've got a pretty decent deal. 20 pounds a month, free X10, 400anytime mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet, 18 month contract. I was trying to push for a 12 month contract but seems they're really tough on it this year. Would have had to pay 100 quid for the phone on a 12 month.

if you dont mind, where/how did you get that deal?

thanks.

got it from orange. i've been with them for 6 years and i know how their CRM system works. you have to be an existing customer and you get the best deals if you call them up and request a PAC code. They'll then try their best to keep you, and offer you the best possible deal based on your history.

why do they do this? its complicated but customer retention is a key tactic in business strategy when you have a mature market with little opportunity for growth other than stealing customers from competitors

last year i barely managed to get them to give me a 12 month. 350 mins, 150 texts, free touch HD for 20 a month.

they said they would have been able to give me that again this year, but for any other phone other than the x10 as its their most expensive one at the moment

"Oh, okay sir. Give me a minute or two and I'll have a look to see if there is anything I can do regarding the tariff itself, but I wouldn't hold my breath about the handset. Bare with me yeah?"

Orange Rep :

"Hey there, sir. I've had a little look at what flexibility we have and the package I can look at for you, due to the circumstances, is :

600 cross net, anytime minutes with unlimited text messages.
Unlimited internet access, subject to a fair usage policy of 500mb per month.
50% discount on your line rental with a
