Root Problem installing busybox

So i was trying to install busybox manually because im trying to get a better feel for adb. Anyways when i pushed busybox into /data/local it put a folder in there with busybox inside of it.

Just wonder how to remove the folder. i tried
adb shell
rm busybox /data/local

It said read only permission.

I gave up on doing it mainly because i felt i was doing something wrong and ended up using titanium backup for it. Just wanna get that folder out of there

Use Root Explorer (set if for RW first, then delete).

adb remount - remounts the /system partition on the device read-write
(there is a lot more to it then this - root explorer is a much easier way to go).

Thanks. i brought up the command list in terminal. must have skipped over adb remount. I've been trying to use adb more just in case i need to use it to fix my droid so im comfortable with it.

A good plan. The practice is well worth it. All the users that strictly depend on the all in one programs like Rom Manager and DM Updater are up the creek without a paddle when anything goes wrong.
