Root 2.1 keyboard on 2.0.1

Settings > Language & Keyboard > remove check next to "Touch Input" and make sure there is a check next to "Android Keyboard"

(Other way around, he wants the 2.1 keyboard on 2.0.1, not the 2.0.1 on 2.1)

just do the manual update to 2.1... that would def be easier than trying to find that .apk

Doing that will remove his 5 screens, and will remove root access which includes his nandroid backups. That is not a valid option in this case.

Honestly I'm thinking of just trying to get him to use the HTC one I do if it's too much trouble to find the APK, but 2.1 one is his preference.

Got any old nandroid's of a 2.0.1 ROM? Most of them had the 2.1 keyboard in them, but I'm pretty sure you need more then just the apk for it to work. Just have him flash a newer ROM that has it.
Sadly only nandroid backups of my one (which is self-modified off of stock) so no 2.1 keyboard.

I'll keep checking this topic, but I'm gonna put my efforts into convincing him to take the HTC one I use.
