Root [How to] get Google play on LT7033

I tried some known apk's that work for Ice Cream Sandwich and when i start it i get force close. There is a market installed called SlideMe, but I do not want to use anything besides amazon or google play. Paid $50 for this thing and it's proving to be getting what you pay for. Edit: Just tried Amazon and I was able to get this to work without doing anything special other than allowing 3rd Party Apps

I can't even get the Amazon Appstore to run on it.
Installed it and after like 5 tries was able to add my account to it.
Now when I click the icon the only thing it does is a nice black/gray screen with no text. :(

I'm having the same problem. It was working Ok the first couple of times I ran it and now I'm just getting the gray and black screen. Anyone know how to fix that?

Well you could download gapps from the cyanogen wiki that way you have working Playstore and other gapps. Problem is because its in .zip and there is no custom recovery I know of (and rom manager doesn't support) you would have to extract and find the system folder and merge it to your tablets system folder using adb.

All this would be cake if I had debugging drivers, however I can not find them anywhere (tried pdanet, google, and even Curtis tech support). Anybody know how i can use adb with this tab?

What pisses me off is they even advertise it on the web site with pics of the tablet with playstore, and specs say it comes loaded with 4.1 when it really only comes with 4.0.4. False Advertising.

There are 2 app stores already downloaded on the android tablet Klu LT7033. To find them, click the button in the upper right hand corner of the tablet (it looks like two rows of three boxes). GetJar is a free app store (red icon with a "G"), and SlideME is also an app store but it is not free (icon has two arrows). You can also google "7 alternative app stores for android" I hope this helps. :)

This is exactly where I am stuck. ROM manager doesn't work. ADB doesn't work. There's no way to boot into a bootloader. And all the g-apps are stuff in a .zip which is useless with this tablet's current configuration. So frustrating.

Go to the customer support and tell them you need the drivers for windows and they will send you a software cd with the drivers. like 2-3 weeks (is what they told me) I feel your pain everyone. I bought this for my 5 year old as a starter tab but the reason i did is because the advertisement had play store on it. I'll let you know more when i get the CD in the mail. I will also Post the drivers up so you guys can download em.

Keep a lookout for this to get It's own thread cuz if i do get drivers so i can use adb, I will start developing on this b***h :D

as far as i can tell, it does have a recovery partition (using terminal emulator with a few non-root comands) and I know a great CWM dev who can build CWM overnight. he currently has ported CWM for over 40 devices and has done 2 for me (Samsung Transform Ultra, ZTE Warp Sequent)

All I need are those drivers and i am off to deving. seems like it would be a really nice device if we can get a good custom ROM like this:

gapps installed
deodexed system/apps
init.d scripts for RAM kill, zipalign, sd-cache increase
OC kernel with SIO and deadline IO scheduler and some good governors added
shutdown, reboot, download added to the power menu
maybe a few other tweaks

hope they send me what i need..

What's up mav lol,I too bought this lil tablet and was another one fooled by the pic with the android market on it but I was sad when I turned it on and no market.Just some $hitty bootleg markets lol.I went on google loooking for one and all the ones I installed FCd.So what I did was took one of my spare cards and copied everything from my phone (samsung transform ultra) but before I did that I backed up my market from my phone and transfered it all to the tab and installed titanium backup and looked for the market I backed up and installed it.It gave me no issue then @ first then fc,so i cleared data and restarted the tab,and tried the market again, and to my surprise it didn't force close :),it actually updated to a newer version, yeah I know I said titanium backup to do all this I figured out how to root this, its for some other tab but that shit worked I'm gonna upload the files to root it and my market(before it updated on the tab) to my dropbox account and post that ish here for ur enjoyment guys lol.

http://db.tt/qSnXMWyJ <<~~~market link

http://db.tt/SjwfVfUB is the link to root,u need to extract the files and u need to open it up after extracted and look for the "runme.bat" and double click it,look over what it is saying to you and when u are done doing all of the things u hit enter it will do its thing and it may reboot once or twice but when all done it will be rooted :)

I hope u guys have fun playin with ur new tabs like I did lol now time for bed almost 7am!

Haha, what's up Casper? Yeah bro, that would be awesome if you could give me what you got. I've been trying to figure your how to root it without adb but haven't came up with anything yet. Kinda anxious to get it rooted cuz I wanna see what I can make this little sucker do lol. I to did try installing play store but all 4 or 5 different versions "stopped un-unexpectedly" but it's not rooted and I think it just won't run from /data. I can have a good Rom in a few days if I can get it rooted. I'll even ask scary Alien Alien if we can start a thread for it.

Agreed on GetJar being useless... Here's what I got so far, not sure if it will help...

After getting Amazon Appstore to "grey" out, go to the Applications menu in Settings, and Clear Data and Force Close. I found that the first time I run Appstore it will run, and with a little diligence I've been able to get my Kindle app, and Plants Vs. Zombies installed... ;) (Another trick I've tried is changing orientation in Appstore to Landscape, it seems to help for some reason... Give it a shot.)

But like most, I got the CWM app running, but cannot install the recovery... I did put on CPU Boost, and that helped the "slugishness" of it considerably. I will be trying the Titanium trick next... It couldn't hurt...

Keep up the good ideas folks!

Now to pull some data dumps and figure out these partitions so we can get CWM.

Oh I did use the method dimitriz posted and it works flawlessly. Unfourtunately, the RK29 drivers didn't work on my windows 7 x64 bit. They installed but adb still doesn't list the device so Im guessing I need a different driver.. dimitriz, how did you get yours to work?

I've tried the USB drivers on Win 7 64 and Win Vista 32 and neither let ADB see my tablet. It shows up as an Android Phone -> Android Composite ADB Interface in my device manager on both machines. Am I doing something wrong here? Mavrik mentioned that it didn't work on Win 7 64 but I thought the drivers would work on Vista 32.
