Help Fastest way to drain the battery

I want to drain my battery to the very end and then recharge it so I was wondering what to do to really waste the battery really fast. I have the display on the brightest setting, bluetooth and WiFi on. What apps really drain the battery? I tried Sprint TV but it kicked me off the WiFi
 
Use moment flash the flashlight app and turn on fullbright be kill it fast.


We got the flashlight app on my wifes phone. Some of the comments reported blowing the flash on thier phone from the bright setting, I'd be careful with that.

Tubedownloader is an app that downloads video from YouTube. The free version can download 2 videos at once, your battery will last 2-3 hours tops. If you can get somewhere with poor signal while doing it, maybe quicker.

Eh either way I see it blowing because the camera when taking pics the flash is fullbright at least it looks like that's why I keep it off anyway, but the app moment flash I use the reg not fullbright because it's blinding and only when I really need too.

I'm blanking on the name of the game -- but it's a popular one where you race a little spaceship on a track (would prob work with any of those games)-- it uses the accelerometer and super CPU intensive. Before the CL14 update, when we were all trying to temper our batteries, I used to set my screen to Never timeout, start the game, and just set it on its side. The ship would spin round n round until the battery died. Good times.

Numus has written extensively about the different between lithium ion batteries (ours) and other types and the whole techno-mumbo jumbo that it entails. Do a search on the forums here and you can find it.

I just tend to listen to him at this point. Heh.

That guide was one of the first things I read and ignored because of everyone elses post to the contrary.

Did not realize it was Numus, so I guess I can look forward to buying a new battery early

I did this the other day and it didn't do a darn thing for me....good or bad...battery still sucks. I've even accomplished root and removed Sprint apps and I still can't use my Moment heavily without it dying in a few hours.

Install Spare Parts look at partial wake lock after unplugging the phone and leaving the screen off. Also check usage details to see the number of times an app is starting. Leave the phone sleep for 10 minutes (screen off) This should tell you what is running and using the battery. You can also check out advanced task killer free, start the phone up see whats running under apps then after 5 minutes check again and see if any 3rd party apps are still running.

Last resort Uninstall everything (or better yet reflash stock) and reinstall 2-3 apps at a time while checking under spare parts as you install. In this case you can let the phone sleep for 1 minute between install batches, as long as the battery history running time is less than 100 the previously installed app(s) should be fine. If after you install 2 or 3 then your running time is 100 then it was one of those and you have narrowed it down.

Lastly keep this in mind even if you use the last method and your apps are safe and not running after install, sometimes an app does not start acting up until you start it and accept the terms for the first time.

If you have any app that is following your location like movies or weather that will definitely kill the battery within the time frame you are talking about, turn those options off trust me I know.

The optimum results should be running time as close as possible to screen on time 5-8% is good. Also the lower your screen on time the longer your battery should last. If you are new you may not believe this but my wifes moment which she mostly uses for callls and does not have a lot of apps on will run an average of 26 hours without recharging.

He's right, however the battery cycling procedure was not being implemented to train the battery, but rather, to train the cj05 battery meter software to get a more accurate reading. So it really is pointless and will only serve to harm your battery if you are running cl14.

Thank you for this info! I've had ATK for awhile and I just downloaded Spare Parts last night....hopefully this will give me a bit more information. I also reflashed stock yesterday, and started from scratch using Zefie's kernel. I'd say at the moment I only have about 20 apps. The only thing I have following my location is Beautiful Widgets. I don't have a great signal at my house so I know that contributes quite a bit too but I came from a Blackberry Curve and I only ever drained the battery on that thing once! I know I'm complaining but I seriously love this phone, I just wish I could get the battery to last longer.

Placebo effect on "training" the cj05 battery meter software... After i ripped apart the code for cj05 i quickly found out there was no calibration and modification variables ANYWHERE... Only variables would exist in the ADC circuitry and that is a hardware implementation that wouldn't have an effect.. All values for the battery meter code were hardcoded in, and that is where the problem existed..
