Hey guys, I really appreciated your help with my last problem! I couldn't find this in a search in the forums - and I also am not too sure what the issue is...Here's what I'm trying to deal with: My rooted LG Spectrum is stuck on the boot logo (I customized it so the logo is the Ubuntu boot up screen for the computer, thanks to JRummy) I was using my phone with low battery last night, and it froze and shut down - it wouldn't start back up it just stays on the logo for hours, if you let it. So it powers on, but it goes from the initial LG screen, to the little zip along colorful logo - to the boot logo, but just hangs there indefinitely. I have no idea what to do b/c it doesn't seem like i can even get to the recovery. I do not want to buy a new phone if i don't need to! Please help! my internet access is limited due to my phone no longer working (I was using it to tether) I also do all of my online work from a MacBook as of right now..Thanks in advance for all of your guys' help! I can't wait to get my phone up and running again, I'm going to give the IcyFusion a try!

power off fully, then hold power+vol down until the factory reset menu comes up. press power twice. this will click you into recovery. wipe your cache and data. try rebooting. if you're still stuck, repeat the process to get into recovery and flash a different rom.
Ok awesome, Thanks Neph! I've heard alot about great work from you, I haven't looked much..but have you done a ROM from ICS to the Spectrum? And one thing i always wondered, do the ICS ROM's out there utilize the Dual-Core capabilities of the Spectrum? I'm going to give that a try on my phone now....oh, will it matter if i d/l the rom from my Mac to the phone? I know that it didn't work properly when the OTA came...Hollywoodz helped me on that one, I had to D/L the .zip directly to my SD Card, I guess it was some issue w/ downloading .zip's from a Mac and the way it saves on the computer..such a pain, but a simple fix!

I haven't put out a rom as all my time is currently tied up in trying to get BT and wifi tether fixed on stock ICS and trying to figure out the data issue on CM9. Yes, ICS handles dual-core much better then GB did. Grabbing a .zip rom with your phone is much easier with your phone then the update as it's a much smaller package, especially if your laptop is tethering to your phone anyways. I hope this is the info you were looking for.

ok awesome. So I should just log into this site from my phone and d/l the IcyFusion? and so the IcyFusion will handle the DC better, eh? and Yes, it is Just what i was looking for - installing new ROM now...After the reboot it brought me right back to Recovery, I'm trying the BO Spectrum install now - I did Eclipse 0.2 last time...hopefully this one works so i can get on my internet!

If you keep boot looping into CWM, it means you're on the old recovery. You really need to update to CMW v6. As for what you're doing, if you didn't take the ICS update, I can not guarantee that you will be able to run the ICS roms. It can't hurt to try thou, but be aware that you will lose wifi tether and bluetooth as we don't have those issues fixed.

ohhh, yeah darn..wifi tether is pretty much my main use for the phone...and I'm not exactly sure if i have the newest one..i tttthink i do..im pretty sure i updated after i tried to get the OTA and failed, is there a way to confirm if i do?...and so since i didn't take the official OTA update from Verizon, I'll never get the dual-core unlocked?? I just loaded ICYFUSION, it works...a bit slow, and maybe a little much with the launchers, but i really haven't messed around with it. I just posted on ur thread about some questions i had. but regardless azoller1 great work, looks like ur new at this? congrats on building your ROM, and good moves with the consistent updates..I'm sure this will turn out to be spectacular man. (I need that wifi tether!) :)

Dual core works in GB, but it's not optimized. It's like running 1 core at a time, but both cores are running (best way I can describe it). It's still faster then running a single core. If you're in CWM, check the bottom of the screen. If you're running anything lower then 6.0.1.0 then you're outdated and will always have issues boot looping into CWM using the button method. 6.0.1.1 supports .tar archiving (nandroid) and seems to be safer then using the new blob method.

No, only your radio files will be GB. You system files will be what ever rom you flash, but not all roms are guaranteed to work with all radio files. So far I have not seen issues going forward, but some people had issues getting GB roms working with the ICS radio files.

Neph just a quick question, wouldnt using that gb cab file restore the gb radio files? Just curious .

that was my issue at first...ya'll helped me out with that or i'da probably gotten too frustrated and paid for a new phone 8)...that new Spectrum 2 has wireless charging built in...pretty dope...anyways - So, In order to fully "update" my ROM with no worries & have REAL Su access with IcyFusion - I would need to return to stock, take the OTA and then re-root, etc...and go from there? cuz I was having issues when i first tried IcyFusion as far as the "SuperSU" saying something about not getting access to SU Binary or whatever that means, i'm not too computer savvy all like that...But yeah...i had NO clue what that means, did i lose my root now or??? (I'm running Eclipse now...it wont stop rebooting, I'm trying to move on to an ICS theme anyways)

Flash the cab file. That'll flash the new radio files for you too. Then run the spectrum pwnage tool and flash away.
