Ordering into Canada: Taxes/Duty

I've already ordered my Nexus One and hopefully it'll be arriving shortly. However I am wondering if anyone else whos previously had one shipped to Canada nows what kind of taxes/duty I'll be looking at when the guy comes to the door.

I know the phone is subject to all applicable taxes and duty but there isn't a guarantee that the item will always 100% be stopped at the border and charged, or maybe thats just my hopeful thinking :p.

In any case, I also live in Alberta so if there is a tax hit... at least its only the 5% GST, no PST here.

same thing happened to me, dont worry, it is picked up from Northeast Indianapolis, IN, goes to Cincinnati Hub, OH, then to Seattle, WA and back to Cincinnati Hub, OH again and finally Richmond, Canada and then ur address lol .. mine only took 4 business days.

Same here for Victoria. Ordered it Thursday, was in Richmond on Friday but didn't get to the island until Monday. It was a looooooooong weekend ;)

I'm in Victoria too :D Jonno2k, what time did they deliver for you?

Mine has now departed Seattle as of 4:23am. Maybe I can expect it tomorrow perhaps? It would be a great long weekend gift ;)

Edit:4/1/2010 11:40am Processed at DHL Location. Richmond, Canada

Edit: Must practice patience for the easter long weekend. Will deliver Monday 4/5/2010. Grr

Woot just got mine in today; yea mine went to Cincinnati as well which I thought was weird but it still only took 2 business days to ship to my address.

As well best of all, the DHL guy didn't ask for any tax/duty at all! He just got me to sign for the package and that was it :D

Help please.
I received my phone on monday, bought a sim (Bell) and went to activate today in store because something is wrong with my online account. Anyways the sim card would not activate in my nexus but would in the stores iphone.

Am I missing something or is there something wrong with my device?

TIA
