I got tired of not being able to do anything, at least easily. I can't get google apps. I can't get play store. I can't get a real keyboard. I can't use a grown up launcher.
I rooted it, I installed other stuff, it didn't seem to work well that way.
So I took it back, and got a Nexus 7. The Nexus is superior in every way. Thinner, so I can hold it in one hand more easily. Noticably lighter. Faster web in my opinion.
And as for the "two speaker Dolby fire" vs. the mono nexus... I notice no discernable difference. If anything, the Nexus sounds better.
And I can install and friggin thing I want, no problem, no sideloads, no root necessary.
I want a device that lets me do what I want, not tells me what I can and can't do. That apparently rules Amazon out.
