Help question about some cases

The link to the first one just took me to a batman logo so not sure if that would work, and the second one wouldn't work because that's a different variant of the s2. Notice the camera is placed differently and it has a button.
Yes this is correct. Make sure if you purchase a case that it is for the sprint "samsung galaxy s2 epic touch 4g"

"D710" is a fairly good filter

Here's some pictures of the one I'm using; Easy to hang onto (raised gripping surfaces); The plastic inner shell is about 1/8" thick on each side and is covered by a second layer of rubber. Fairly easy to install and take off. The rubber layer is quite thick and the inner layer would probably survive being dropped on a hard surface.
Excellent protection at the cost of nearly doubling the thickness and weight of your phone.
The upside is, it's engineered well, when many covers are not. It's obvious, it was made to fit this phone (check out the beveled ports). Fairly good water protection too with the ear jack, USB port and buttons covered. I found the pull-out stand handy for navigation in the auto.

I now lay the phone face down, where I can pick it up with my left hand and it's ready to go (no shuffling to orientate the phone in my hand is required).

Lot's of these on eBay for under $10

Note: The opening on the top left side is for a wrist-strap; You have to remove the rear cover and thread the loop over the tip of the point to install.

(Camera is shown with Holo Launcher)

I like the protection, but I also don't like the bulk. But if protection is what your going for, that looks like a great case he's got! :D

Ever since the Optimus V, I have grown to like just a basic silicone skin. When I had the Blackberry Curve with Virgin Mobile in 2010, I had an Otterbox. I did like the protection as well as the grip but it was a pain to put in your pocket haha!

The great thing about this phone is there is an endless supply of cases (and even extended batteries that comes with cases to fit). A quick search on eBay or Amazon of "Epic Touch 4G case" comes up with lots of nice choices which is a very nice benefit in owning a well known branded device like ours ;)

I'm with Britton, I developed a liking for simple silicone on my BB Storm. It takes most of the everyday wear and tear the phone gets from typical handling. Cheap and easy to clean or replace when it gets dirty and doesn't add a lot of bulk. Couple it with a nice adhesive screen protector and there should be no problems. It may not offer drop or shock protection like an Otter, but I'm pretty good at avoiding or being careful in those cases.

I found one from Diztronic on Amazon for like $8. Fits like a glove, cutouts are perfect and good grip and feel.

My dad has an OtterBox for his GS3...hate it. Insanely bulky, blocks the edges of the screen and the screen protector is worthless, it's not adhesive so it actually traps dirt and hair against the screen because that crap does get in there.

I bought this same one from Amazon. Like lilnono93 says fits like a glove, no bulk, and the edge on the TPU material makes it easy hold. It definitely makes the GS2 less slippery in your hand. Take look at the Customer Video Review by Brian Tate on Amazon at the link below, it helped me make my decision.

Amazon.com: Diztronic Matte Back Black Flexible TPU Case for Sprint Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch (SPH-D710) & US Cellular Samsung Galaxy S II (SCH-R760) **ONLY FOR SPRINT & US CELLULAR MODELS** [Retail Packaging]: Cell Phones & Accessories

I'm using this case right now. Amazon.com: Black APEX Hybrid Hard Case Gel Cover For Samsung Galaxy S2 (Epic 4G Touch D710) Sprint: Cell Phones & Accessories In the picture it looks really thick but it really isn't at all (this coming from someone who hates using cases). This is the same case but in pink (if that's what floats your boat :D) but you can see the design better in the pictures for this one. Amazon.com: Pink APEX Hard Case Gel Cover For Samsung Galaxy S2 (Epic 4G Touch D710) Sprint: Cell Phones & Accessories

edit: I forgot to add that this case is 2 pieces (kind of like otterbox but much much thinner). The inside is a silicone piece and on the outside is a plastic backing that you put on after to hold it in place. I would say the thickness in general is comparable to that of a silicone case.
