Root my phone wont back up recovery image

when i try the one click way to root my my touch 3g. i try to back up the recovery image but all it says is
backup FAILED: could not run command
am i doing some thing wrong pls help me

When you got your phone did you get it with 1.6 or 1.5?

Restart phone, if you cant, remove battery and restart.

You will need to use the GOLD card method.

This method is a pain in the rear and I had to have a friend do this for me. For some reason i could not figure it out.

Im not the best person here for a walk through however have no problem helping where i can.


The one touch method used had upgraded 1.5 to 1.6 and is now WAY outdated since the phones now come with 1.6 ONLY... you will need to give it 1.5 then back to 1.6 then can root.

Since your mt3g came with 1.6 pre installed you will have to follow what dasudevil said.

Trust me this idea will not work. You have to use the gold card. I have tried the one touch root and WILL NEVER work if you never upgraded to 1.6.

Check the website. READ, READ, READ, and when you think you got it then your ready to READ again!!!!


This is not a simple process. Devote at least 2-5 hours for this process. Its VERY LONG. If you mess up you start to look like me in other posts.

The unlocker has every file needed however may need to take some time due to file overload. (sometimes the servers are full)

Trust me TAKE YOUR TIME! Do not skip one process, Do NOT RUSH, And you MUST READ!
