Screen Protector Recs?

Hi all!

Wow...having had a Original Incredible, and visiting that thread for awhile, now going to Inc 4G, I am kind of wowed by how dead the forum is here....hopefully I can find some advice...

Finally decided on a Dinc 4G....I've always had screen protectors on my phones (Boxwaves have been a favorite) but Boxwave doesn't offer a screen protector for the Dinc 4G...

Does anyone have any recommendations for a solid, clear (not anti-glare) screen protector? In your experience, do I even need one? I am pretty careful with my phone, but drops happen, keys end up in the same pocket sometimes, and I bike to work, so my phone is in a pocket on my bike bag a lot...

Is gorilla glass legit? Do I even need a screen protector for this phone? What has your experience been...Thanks for the input if anyone is still out there!

You will need a screen protector. Gorilla Glass can still scratch/crack.

Screen protectors are meant for preventing scratches, not cracks, i would suggest to get a case & screen protector if you are prone to dropping your device.

I always just look on Amazon for screen protectors, usually read the reviews and see what others have to say. I always end up spending between 5-10$ for 3 of them

I avoid cases since I don't drop the phone all that often, and I don't like changing the form factor of a phone all that much...especially the Dinc since it's kind of unique......I should have made that more clear in my post...I'll keep an eye out for screen protectors on Amazon....thanks for the info!

Anyone else have specific brands they have had good experiences with?

I have opted for not using a protector film on my Inc 4G (always used one on my original Inc). I do have a few very fine scratches on the screen which are nearly invisible unless you're looking for them in the right light, with the display off. I believe mine occurred from a visit to the beach.

I do agree this forum is quiet compared to the first Incredible forum. There's so much good competition out there now! It's a little sad to learn there are different grades of Gorilla Glass...

I got the screen protectors from Verizon but they suck. Its impossible to lay them down without getting dust particles underneath it which form these real ugly bubbles on them. Its like you have to be a scientist in a sterile lab to do it properly.

That appears to be an Internet myth. There is an optional coating that makes the screen easier to clean. Coatings scratch.

That may be what is scratching. In that case the coating may not be a good idea. It does seem to me the Inc 4G screen picks up less oil during calls. Still, I'd prefer no coating which can scratch.

Never had a screen protector on this phone. Only blemish on the screen is the one I noticed after reading a post about a month after receiving the phone which mentioned micro scuffs. Those are the ones that seem to be embedded in that special coating. No new scuffs that I can see in the past few months. Kind of makes me wonder if these micro scuffs were there when I got the phone. Hmmmmm.
