Phone tracking app? Is there an accurate / decent one?

Hi,

Looking for an app to track the location of my children's phones (Nexus 4) - not so much that I can spy, but so that I have a half decent chance of locating the phone when they leave it somewhere!

On our Samsung phones we have their app, which is great as it allows for the phone to ring remotely, lock etc. - but as far as I know this just works with Samsung phones.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I'm really happy with Cerberus https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lsdroid.cerberus.
I believe they allow multiple devices on a single account.

I really like Lookout Mobile Security and Where's My Droid. Accuracy may vary depending on the phone and its location, but both are pretty nice.

Lookout also makes Plan B, an app that you can download after you already loose the phone. I have personally run a battery of tests on it and find that its better than nothing but can run into issues inside buildings, tightly packed communities, or in a downtown environment.

Where's My Droid also makes a 'Lite' version of the app which can be downloaded after the phone has been lost as well.

A little different ball here.

Are you going to tell the kids that there will be such program on their phones. It is a privacy issue (although they are your kids and I completely understand your concern.) If a kid wants to avoid being tracked, s/he will just turn the phone off and how will you track them?

But if the kids are fine with it, then really there are a ton of them. https://pocket.do/ is good too.

If you tell us, which ones you have tried and disliked then you can avoid those responses.
