I just updated my 10.1 to 4.0.4.

I am just wondering, whats the name of this firmware?

Also, does anyone have a link that tells me what this new update features?

It's the same number as before, and I have no idea what it did. Must have been a house keeping upgrade from Samsung not a real change from original firmware.

No, when I checked, my Tab was still on 3.something

If you had 3.0 sure 4.04 is the upgrade, but Samsung did another auto update when it was turned on a while back. And it was still 4.04 after the what ever they did. Myself I have zero idea but it still is working.

Version 4.0.4 is called ICS or Ice Cream Sandwich. It's a big improvement over v3.2 HC or Honeycomb with smoother and faster performance. It also improves the overall look and feel of the firmware. If you haven't done it yet, I highly recommend a 'factory reset' to wipe the Tab and setup the firmware with a fresh installation. It means you need to backup your data, and you'll have to re-install your apps again and setup the screens again, but it wipes away any remnants of the old version and gives a clean setup. It also helps to eliminate any potential issues.

I made the update to ics 4.01 a few weeks agoo and I can confirm that evrihing is working very fine

That's only applicable to those who upgrade with non-official updates which lack proprietary camera drivers. If you update to ICS with the official Samsung v4.0.4 ICS update which includes proper drivers, the camera works perfectly fine.

I got a friend a 10.1 on eBay, and it was identical to mine. Both had HC 3.5.?.....
Now his has the upgrade to 4.x.x. ICS and both his cameras work too.
He has no idea on how it upgraded <G>.

Hi. I read that you recommend doing a factory reset BEFORE upgrading one's OS, but what would you recommend for someone who did an upgrade without knowing this and now has no audio, can not play video or music?

I have attempted a factory reset post upgrade but still, nada.

Any suggestions? I'm at a loss.

Is this with the official Samsung version release or some other version like CyanogenMod?

It came through from Samsung.

I went to check for updates at it gave me the ICS update.

I've still not managed to resolve my problem. I've ended up packing and taking my laptop and other hardware I think I might need with me. That's how desperate I am to fix my tab.

I upgraded to 4.0.4 and now I cannot increase (letter) size on some web pages. Is there a solution for this? Can I go back to my old version?
