Few more days and my Tbolt is retired

Well, my Tbolt days are numbered. I've had it since launch and its now entering its final few days of service. Ordered the Razr Maxx HD. Really tough decision with some of the upcoming releases but the battery life on the new Maxx HD was reason enough to get it. Just don't have the time nowadays to keep up with all of the tricks or rooting and will settle for what I get out of the box from moto.

Thanks to all the Tbolt members for teaching me so much about the Android platform and all the help with making my Tbolt the best it could be. It's been a bumpy ride at times but I must admit that the phone always performed when I needed it to and its being retired in very good condition with only a little bit of chipping on the kick stand. This phone has physically held up very well.

It's going to take some time to adjust to a moto phone but I think I'll survive.

Thanks again Tbolt community!

I own a launch date Thunderbolt and I to have been eyeing the Maxx HD. My Thunderbolt did not have adequate battery capacity for 4G and the long usage that can come when traveling so I got the extended battery. The extended battery ruined the Bolts sexy figure but I needed the convenience. The Maxx HD will have more battery and a much better figure.
Still, I won’t be eligible for upgrade until next month and I may even carry the Bolt for longer than the contact obligation so that I can make the purchase of as new phone at a time that is financially convenient.
The Maxx HD is my choice at this moment. That may change by the time I’m ready to buy.

My Launch Day Thunderbolt only has about a week left in it. I am switching over to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. I have loved my Thunderbolt and enjoy my time with it. Was not happy they did not push ICS/JB to the T-Bolt. Hopefully I will have better luck the the Note 2.

Same here, I've had my Tbolt since launch and I'm switching over to the note 2 as well. I pre-ordered it and will have it thursday. I've stuck with HTC but it seems like they don't keep up with updates. Samsung seems to be better at updating so I'm giving them a try. Besides, the note 2 looks awesome!

I love my tbolt! However, I'm considering upgrading to the Galaxy SIII. gonna buy outright so I don't lose my unlimited data. Other than wifi issues with my release date TB, and replacement going for a swim in the river, I've had good luck with them. This is the longest I've ever kept a phone without upgrading!

Same here, the thunderbolt was the longest I've ever kept a phone, mostly because there wasn't anything else out that wowed me. Until now, I got my Galaxy Note 2 and I absolutely LOVE it! My tbolt is getting retired to be used as backup if needed, but I won't be looking back!

Same here. I considered the bionic for awhile but decided to keep the bolt. I haven't played around with the note 2 so I'm not sure what it's like. When it comes time to get a new phone, I'll find someone who has one or go to the vzw store and check it out. Some friends have the same and I do like it plus there are some nice and girly cases for it :)

Once you use the Note 2, there won't be any going back. You get used the size very quickly and when you look at a smaller phone, it looks too small. The data connectivity is WAY better than the tbolt, battery life is AMAZING and Jelly Bean on the quad core processor is extremely smooth. I was never a big fan of touch wiz and preferred Sense, but they've improved it and I actually like it.

i got rid of sense last year when i started rooting. since then, its been running much better. as for connectivity, my work is spotty with data due to all kinds of electronic equipment but outside of it, its pretty good. 4G is great when i manage to get into an area that has it. i just need to do my research on the 2 and go from there. a friend of mine told me he loves his s3 but then again he loved his iphone5 when he had it so i cant really trust his electronic opinion :p

Had my T-bolt since Launch month with nothing but software and radio troubles. Rooted it and all was fine until I woke from a nap a couple days ago and it won't turn back on or charge.

Declared bricked and near end of life I decided I am going to the Verizon store today to buy a Maxx HD outright and keep my contract because I am using over 50 gigs a month. The guy at the store laughed at me and said I was the reason Verizon got rid of unlimited and agreed I should buy it outright. I can't use this blackberry and the trackball anymore. Everything is such a hassle with this thing.

I have enjoyed my TBolt since day one but it is time for an upgrade. Once my contract is up, I'm heading over to a Nexus 4. No more waiting for software updates. Besides, the N4 is a significant upgrade from the TBolt. :) If the ICS update never makes it, then I'm rooting the phone and installing one of the ICS roms on it so I can use it as media device only.

I had my Thunderbolt since launch too. Except for occasional battery life issues I really did like it. I got a Note 2 for Christmas and I can't be happier. The phone is amazing. I have my Thunderbolt tucked away just in case anything happens to my N2. Looking back it makes me laugh how people use to make fun of me for having such a big phone. Now compared to the N2 it looks small lol.
