Root A few problems with Galaxo 1.6.2

hi all

i installed galaxo 1.6.2 and i'm having a few problems...

first of all i can not format my sd cards thought the settings menu
i press format and the phone just remount the cards without any format made.
second of all on my previous 1.5 a could connect with my cable to any computer and use it as an disk on key , but now it asks me for drivers ???

anyone noticed this problems or has a solution ?

ive never tried that and im not about to test it. maybe try using the recovery instead

the drivers are because 1.6. reinstall nps connect device and let it install drivers.

why would you chose recovery to do that, it's not the safest tool to do that.... you can do that via settings - sd card - format sd card (external)

as i mentioned on my first post i tried doing via settings - sd card - format sd card (external) but the phone doesn't do anything just remounts the card...

i do that in computer instead!

I went for 1.6.2 and everything went fine until I came to reinstall G.Apss, it failed. Had to revert to my back to my backup (XII5) with the faulty proximiter sensor . Help !

i had the same issue. can't re-install G. Apps as well.

you two need to check the other threads
its because you are not creating the SAMSUNG.tar properly
you are creating it from the tar.gz rather than the .tar inside it
you can download the correctly packaged one from here

when you try it again, make sure you wipre from recovery first, then flash update.zip then restore gapps

I checked my install files and I was using the tar from the tar.gz file but the SAMSUNG.tar I extracted was 116MB compared to the 90MB in the link you posted. Anyhoo, I'm going to try with the tar you linked to and let you know how I get on.
