How to set default home screen that opens upon power up?

How do I control which home screen opens when my Nexus 7 powers up?

For example I built a screen full of widgets that I like.

Now how do I set that screen to be the default upon open?

The screen that it's opening to now has advertisements for magazines and books that I'm not interested in.

Hi MareLuce! I do not have your device, but I think we are on similar software. I could be wrong but I guess it can't hurt anything to check.

Try looking here:
Settings>Launcher>Homescreen>Default screen

That is where I can change mine. Simply select a screen number to be your default home screen.

I have never used a Nexus 7 but I am assuming it runs stock jellybean like the nexus 4. Anyway, let me know if this works for you! Sorry if it doesn't:eek:

or, do you have both devices?
Yes. (No worries - I didn't interpret your question as rude. Oh, but then you added the roll-eyes).

However, you have a good point - perhaps I should have entered 2 different topics.

What would be your best guess for why I didn't think I would need to ask the same question in 2 different forums for 2 devices, both running same version of Android?

mainly that Samsung often change the layout of their settings menus, and add and remove things that are present in the stock android menu. I own a Samsung Galaxy S2 and a Nexus 7.

It confused me because You started off asking a question about the nexus 7 and then changed to talk about the note 2, so I asked did you realize you were asking a question in the Nexus 7 forum. seriously, no offence intended.

In his defense, even when the version of Android is the same, manufacturers like Samsung often change and add/remove menu items when applying their 'skin' like TouchWiz on top of vanilla Android.

If there is a way to do something like this on two devices running differently 'skinned' versions of Android, they often will vary slightly.

Agreed. This is what I didn't realize till this thread.

Coming from iPhone / iPad, everything is exactly the same between the 2 (all from Apple, I know).

I figured that Samsung and ATT would ADD their own bloatware or maybe even good capabilities (I like the S-Pen), but intuitively I thought the very basic parts would be the same (like which menu options will set the default home screens).

For this question it's not a huge deal.

For an application I'm trying to use, that difference is a huge pain. (Documents To Go)

I'm am desparately trying to find an app that will SYNC Google Docs AND allow for offline editing before I leave for Prague and Berlin. I have ~ 100 Google Docs and Spreadsheets on my Google Drive.

I paid $14.95 for Docs to Go because it said,

"Google Docs Support Download, view and edit your files from your Google Docs account directly in Docs To Go. Any changes you make can be saved and synchronized back to Google Docs so that you'll always have the most up-to-date version. You can even create new files in Docs To Go and upload them immediately to your account"

It took me an hour just to get it to do a sync because the menu options on my Note 2 didn't match the instructions, although they did on the Nexus 7.

THEN, after that hour, when I tried to edit the Google document, Docs To Go gave me an error message something like "can't find an app that will edit this document type". ARGH !!
