Hi i recently joined the community since i got an android :D sorry if im reposting this issue since i couldnt find any old ones on this thread. I recently rooted my s2 and with a lil knowledge about the system files i seem to have deleted a few. How do i know? I try to run play store but it goes to a blank screen and i get an error message saying it has stopped working.....same thing with my web browser when i try to download something. Now is there a way to redownload those lost files without erasing everything on my phone? If not will a factory reset restore the original files? Thanks guys :) im running ics rooted if that makes any difference...and i used titanium backup to do so and forgot to make backups of the files before doing so...

Hi driger :ciao: Welcome to AF!

I moved your thread to the All Things Root forum. Yes, a factory reset should restore everything .. I think. If you deleted system files I can't remember for sure if it restores them, but I think it does. Do you have a nandroid backup you can restore?

When you get straightened out, its a good idea to use Titanium to freeze the apps first you aren't sure about. Then you can delete if there aren't any problems. Also, take a look at these links from the root guide.

If you have to, you can always use Odin in this guide to go back to stock and then reroot.

Yes, Odin will restore everything and then you would have to reroot. I would try a factory reset first and see if that does it.

basically what i need is the system files to be restored and if that process takes away my root then i need to re-root....so i was thinking to first flash the stock rom using odin then do a root using odin. i think im confusing me along with you lol

Ok, just follow the the guide in the first link, How to Odin any stock rom. When you're finished with that, follow the guide in the second link, How to root and rom. The files you need are in each guide.

Do you mean this one? ICS 4.0.4 UVLH1 There is a countdown clock. You have to wait 30 seconds. Did you wait that long? You can try SamMobile and type SGH-T989 in the search bar but I'm pretty sure its the same link. (yep, I just checked. Its the same link.)
